redecorating

Can anybody point me in the direction of some interior photo's of some Pop-Ups? My wife and I are redecorating the inside of an early 80's Jayco. It's in decent shape but has that nasty brown and yellow '70's plaid all over with cheesy paper/wood veneer cabinets. We're going to paint the cabinets and replace the yellow floor linoleum, but some color ideas would be great. We're undecided about the counter tops (paint, formica, or leave as is). I'd also like to paint (?) the three burner stove as it's a bit corroded (just ugly-not enough to be dangerous).

Anyway...some style ideas would be great.

You can visit the manufacturer's web sites. I think they have quite a few interior pics. I believe you can also download their brochures which also have a bunch.

As for this site, there are plenty of interior pics but they're spread all over the place.

If you're redecorating, I'd take advantage of the opportunity and find a theme you like and work around that.  For example, if you're into fishing, look for some "fishy" fabric to use for reupholstering and pull a color out of it to paint the stove and redo the countertop.  You can go wild with this one, so take advantage of it!  A great place to find theme type fabrics besides a regular fabric store is a store that specializes in quilting.

One thing to remember when you get to the floor -- pop-ups are all about keeping it light, so don't do anything crazy like ceramic tile!  (Now someone who has already installed ceramic tile is going to tell me it didn't add significant weight, but I've lifted one of those boxes and they're heavy!!!)

I noticed you had a question mark after your sentence - I think it's an excellent idea.  There is special heat-resistant paint available in standard 'stove' colors or you could use that stuff they sell for bbq's.  Good luck!

As has been pointed out, there is high-heat paint (spray paint can).  I used it in my old house on my old yellow stove, to make it nice & white.  It lasted years and kept looking good.

In addition, if the sink is not nice-looking in the camper, you can buy a "re-porcelain" coating that paints on (takes 24 hours to dry, or something).  I put this on my off-white shower pan in my last house when I was redecorating.  It made it look brand-new!  Both porcelain and paint are at Home Depot.

This is how our counter used to look.  I put formica over the counter top.  I am going to paint the cabinets.  I found a primer that is supposed to stick to the plastic stuff ( Zinnser BIN ).  My wife hasn't decided on the color yet.  I'll take a pic of the new formica if I get the chance and post.  Was very easy to do.

I redid my floor and painted my cabinets.  Check out my webshots.  I also redid all the cushions.  I used blue microsuede for all the cushions.  very nice.  I don't have pics of those yet but as soon as I do the new curtains.  I should have pics of everything.

Great job on the floor...love that original vinyl! I'm doing the same thing...paint and new floor. I'll post some pics next week. Thanks to everyone that replied. All had good ideas and I'll share my progress. I have about $900 in the Pop Up and about $100 in re-decorating. It sure beats the price of a new one. Thanks again.......
