Another beautiful shot, Russ.
Here's one I took last week while hiking in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky.

Wavery, those were beautiful pictures.

I haven't been adding to the post very much. My Windows machine took a dump and I bought a iMac machine.

I'm learning it's secrets, but I'll be back with more pictures soon.

BTW.....no filters were used in those pics. They were all taken with a cheap digital camera.

Last week a big swell hit California.

I took lots of pictures that day.

There was a nice sunset the other night.

I snapped this photo and added the frame and text.

Russ you take AMAZING photos.  These were all taken with a point and shoot?  Unbelievable.  Did you use filters or do any editing?  Even if ya did, they're beautiful.  I've got a weakness for the mountains.  Being from Ohio all we have around here are mole hills.  I went "out west" with my parents when I was a kid, so those pics bring back special memories for me.  I vow to take DH and DD there someday.

But thanks for sharing all of your beautiful pictures!!

Russ you take AMAZING photos ........... Kelly: Thanks for the kind words.

These were all taken with a point and shoot ............... Yes, just a P&S.

Did you use filters or do any editing ........... No filters. In my earlier posts I used Photoshop Elements to make color corrections. Since then I got a new iMac and CS3. I use that software to make the pictures look the way I remember the sky, landscape, etc actually looking. For some reason my P&S doesn't take the color as it actually is.

Even if ya did, they're beautiful ............. Thank you.

Below is a photo I took a few days ago. To see it full size, just click on the thumbnail. For some reason, the site I usually use [photobucket] won't download this picture.

Photobucket took forever to load, but it finally did.

In case I haven't said it yet, Happy New Year to you wonderful people.

I've lived in Southern California all my life. Part of celebrating the new year, in SoCal, is the Rose Parade.

I have no idea if other parts of the country even know about out little parade. The floats are spectacular and made entirely from plants, plant parts and flowers. Of course, the float frames are mostly metal.

After the parade they park all the floats in an area where the public can see them up close. In some cases as close as 3 feet and no more then ten feet.

One goal I have set for myself is to avoid crowds; however, yesterday I put that goal aside and went to Pasadena [with DW] to see the floats.

You can see in the picture below a few of the people who had the same idea.

The link below will take you to all the pictures she took - straight out of her camera - no PhotoShop adjustments.

After you get there, if it interests you, I recommend viewing them via the slideshow link.

Thanks again for sharing Russ. Those are great shots.

I worked the Rose Parade for many years. It never seizes to amaze me, the job that these people do with those floats.

Wavery - Thanks for the kind words.

I'm happy that you enjoyed the pictures.

Quote from: RussinatorI went to the beach a few days ago. I took a few pictures and made this collage with them. My son likes to write poems, this is one he wrote and emailed to me asking me to make something with it. I hope he [and you all] like what I made.
