Quote from: PopUPTimesWe're getting a lot of inquiries about our next issue of the magazine that will cover the topic of moving on to a hybrid or other style of RV/camper. I'd like to publish the results of this question in that article.

Do you plan on moving to a Hybrid or other camper / RV within the next 2 years?

I had a popup ten years ago and loved it. I don't have one at the moment but I want to get another one. My significant other would prefer a TT but, to me, that's a totally different experience. I personally don't like the idea of a hybrid and will be VERY happy to get a popup. I just don't want a TT - maybe when I am 70 but that's a long way off!

No, not ever, been popping up for 45 years.  Looking forward to our grandchildren popping up with us.  Long live the pop up!!!!!!!!!!

No plans to move up, on, or into anything at this point.  ("This point," will last until this beast is paid off, at least.)

It is a paper magazine.  I've never seen it on a newsstand, but I have seen it in a few RV dealers.  You can subscribe at this link:

They are the sponsors of the Arvee club forum, and without the mag, none of us would be here.

So far the results of this poll show that Pop UP Times should be around for a while. Lot's of Pop UP Enthusiasts :book:

I've looked at the hybrids - and they ARE sweet; would LOVE to have one, BUT

they take a biggger TV, more space to store, more gas to pull, and cost MUCH more $$ - especially when compared to the cost of the two PUPs I've purchased used - one at $200, and the last one for $300 (plus lots of hardware & sweat equity!)

No, my realistic  idea of  'moving up' it would probably be to a PUP that is less than 20 yrs old already :J   - I doubt I'd even buy a new one even if I could afford it!

I voted yes, but we switched last June.  We found that when DD and a friend would sleep in the double bed of our pup, one would occasionally fall out of bed (into the camper).  Wit the kids at age 10, we knew this arrangement wasn't going to work for much longer.  We went with a bunkhouse model TT that works well for us now.  We all have fond memories of the pup, but this arrangement works better for us at this point.

We are another "No".  Having just upgraded from tents to our popup last year, we are just getting started! :)  I also love being able to store our camper in our garage.

Eventually we will move up, but not for at least another five years.

We still "pop-up" however it is a hard side Trailmanor that we now "pop-up", which is the best of both worlds for us...fits in driveway...low profile when closed...light weight... full bathroom with toilet/sink/shower  (small but there!) .... no worries about closing up wet.

Even though its technically considered a hybrid we still think of it as a "pop-up".

Topflight

We just traded up to a larger pup with dinette slideout and shower/cassette toilet.  When we started looking, we thought we would move up to a TT or hybrid.  After looking at both, we felt like we were captive in a box.  Also we really like keeping the camper in the garage.

Another 'No' for me. We may move to an Aliner eventually, but not anytime soon. My 98 Coleman is still like new...

No.  Just bought new popup in 2005, and we are extemely pleased with it. I had originally desired a Scamp or Casita, but am glad that I got the pop-up instead. If we had to replace it, I would only be considering a traditional or high-wall popup.

We "popped up" for 10 years. DH was tired up "popping". Compromised and bought a hybrid (Jayco 21C Kiwi). Will keep this one at least until retirement which is at least 5 years away.  :cake:  Will reevaluate at that time.

voted NO, although we are looking into moving into a Hybrid... been looking for the last year.  But we are relatively new to poppin up only been doing it from may 05.  I think we still have alot to learn from Poppin UP.  One major thing that keeps us from buy a new HTT is price and TV...  Our PUP or TV is all paid for and we love that we only have maintence and camping fees to deal with.. So we can mod more.  But given a chance for a new PUP, I would do it...

I hope the magazine is around a long time too... we enjoy every article in it.  Just wish it was monthly.  But I am sure that will happen one day!

We LOVE our pop-up...and really had no intention of moving up for awhile.  However, our girls are getting bigger....and our younger one sleeps a bit rough...the older wants her own space....so, we will probably have to move on to something where they have their own bed--and so they can possibly bring a friend.  But, I really have no clue what we will end up getting down the line...
