Hi all,

Had some curiosity of why our Utah is up for sale - we bought another camper.

We had debated about what we would be doing camping-wise in the next few years (Suzannah is in High School now), and figured that we would be switching from our Utah probably in about 2012.

Well, without looking for another camper, we saw one we liked about a week after that definite decision was made.  Deal was too good to pass up.

Anyhow, the new (used) camper is a smallish fifth wheel (28 ft).  Then we had to buy a pickup...  This story takes place over the course of a couple of months.  We had camped in NJ in the popup.  We already had seen the 5th wheel for sale (local to us here), and quite honestly, had decided against it.  Somewhere between NJ and the NY/PA trip we changed our minds and went and bought the 5th wheel.  But then we took the popup to NY/PA for an extended trip.  We hadn't yet towed the 5th wheel anywhere - no inspection, no plates, no truck, it was towed to our side driveway by the seller and left.  We really didn't know how we would feel about towing a 5th wheel.  We've now taken the 5th wheel on two trips, and feel comfortable towing it, so the decision was made to sell the popup.  Unlike SheBantam, we only can use one camper!!  ;)

We hope we can still be part of COTOC and MAPCE, even though we've gone to the darkside...  We love camping with you guys (blame Suzannah's schedule and my vacation time!!!)

If you know anyone that wants a camper in great shape, it's still available!!

Congrats and thanks.  Now I am not the only cotocian who went to the dark side recently. ;)   I hope you enjoy it very much.

SheBantam

Congrats from me also...hey, I go by myself and the big one, especially in mountains/high hills took too much gas to tow, so I have one for (Summer) dry camping and family outtings if I think more than just me are coming. Then the little tiny one for just me.

Congrats on the new 5'er!  Fifth wheels are really nice to tow, waaay more nicer than a bumper towed trailer.  I recently towed a more than 40' Holiday Rambler triple axle 5'er to FL and back.  Nice on the highway, the TV and trailer feel more as one unit.

Also, congrats on joining the camper swapping sub-division of COTOC. lol

Congratulations on the new trailer.  Are you planning on camping with us???  We haven't seen you in a while.  Hope you still want to camp with us.:)

Paula,
We never have seen your A-Liner, but I think that's just because we are having a devil of a time hooking up on camping dates.  One of these days.

Tracy,

If this is for us - Yes!!  We love camping with you guys, we just have trouble with time off matching trips.

We don't see much of ourselves either!

Triple axle?  You didn't miss many fuel stations, I hope you were using a diesel, those Holiday Ramblers aren't light.  But you're absolutely right about towability, no sway, absolutely no affect from semis passing you.  No idea what's directly behind you either...  Sorta miss the lower profile of the popup and the turning, this 5er turns well inside of the truck - that's been a big adjustment.

Good Day.
I wanted to ask you if you have sold your pop up yet?

Hi Jim,

Yes, the popup sold quickly and went to a new home in West Virginia.  Thanks for asking!

Yes Di - you were right!  I didn't want to say anything until I had it home - check out my new signature.  ;)

Well Rick welcome to the "friends don't let friends use canvas" (or something like that) group (from the Aliner owners site, NOT my preference).  Though I still have one with canvas and use it for dry camping and when I have the family.  The Cabin A is teeny tiny with the wet bath.

Mine is a true hardside. Yours is a true pop-up and with all the travel you do to catch up to the rest of us, ease is a great thing, which I think Paula and Kershner can agree since they bought a more plug and play to coin a computer phrase, type camper.

I hope all of you ENJOY!  I know I do.

Rick, the biggest downside to the Aliner is the awning, or lack there-of. I know that an aliner owner makes them and sells them or at least the plans anyway.  Some have gorrilla glued bolts on top of the trailer and use tyvek (because it is very very light) with grommets, and the expanding poles (can be had at Walmart) to make their own trailer awning,
