Easter 2008 Eggstravaganza
Friday, March 21 through Sunday, March 23rd

Okay.  I have reserved 20 sites for the Easter Rally.  We could not have the sites we had last year, as some group goes there that exact weekend (regardless of Easter)...and booked it two years ago!  We are in the area of 3201-3220---but that will not be confirmed until closer to the date.  So, I won't be assigning sites yet.

The cost is somewhere around $38/night, plus we will be adding like maybe $10 to the total cost to pay for an extra site (for potlucks and campfire).  I haven't received the contract yet, so I am not sure about the exact price.  Plus, it depends on how many of us attend to see how to divide the cost of the extra site.

You will have to call Newport Dunes yourself to reserve extra nights. I need to confirm this when I receive the contract, but they normally allow the group rate for 2 days before the rally, and 2 days after. Just call 800-765-7661, tell them you are with Sccampers.

We had a great time last year!  The campground offers MANY activities.  It was a great place to ride bikes...there is a pool....not a lot of DIRT!!!  :-)

Okay - no commuting on Easter Sunday for us this year!!!  Put us down - and I'm thinking by then I may need a hookey day, so I'm going to say that we're arriving on Thursday, but will have to get closer to absolutely sure.  So far, that is the only weekend in March that Matt doesn't have a band performance.  Good timing!!!;)

we should hang out together for a couple of days. we can go to Laguna etc Kara is off that week and Kevin will be gone so it can be just the girls all day

Just a quick post... Kelly and I are definitely keeping this in mind.  Originally, due to the distance, we opted not to since Kelly's a school teacher and that meant a lot of travel to get back for her to start the next day.

Now, with our new daughter due Jan 10, Kelly will be off at least the entire first semester & summer.  Thus, our only hangup is my time off.

At the moment (since I quit my permanent job this past March), I am a contract employee and was just extended through 12/31/07.  If my contract ends, I'll probably also take the first several months of '08 off to be home with Kelly and the baby - which would mean going all over for camping is no biggie (after all, the baby doesn't care where she is - as long as she is warm, happy, and has her FOOD source!)

If my contract is extended, I'll look into taking the time off, if I can do it without putting any projects in jeopardy...  Our previous hangup was that as a teacher, Kelly can't "take days off" since that puts the entire class in a bind since finding substitute teachers is not always successful.
