you may want to look into the race site (you can probably get a link off nascar.com) itself as they may be able to advise you on what goes on  near the race track. if you already have a camp site picked out, contact them and they can help you out. some camp sites may have a shuttle to the track.
any advise we have ever received is to make sure your pu locks and everything is put away and out of sight.
the other advise we received and it may or may not apply is to have enough "to share" (beer, ect) as people do some serious tailgating prior to the race.  :!
also have a plan in case it rains. we had a buddy go to talledaga and it rained so bad that a couple of the heavier rv's sunk. UGH!!!!!  :yikes:

good luck and have fun!!!!

Try this website //www.laidbackracing.com  They have lots of good info about camping at sites near the track; often people that rent out their yards for camping.  My son and I found a great place near Martinsville Speedway.  The owner lets campers set up before the race and the rest of the space he parks cars.  We arrive usually later on Saturday afternoons and spend the night.  I also take a nap after the race to let traffic ease up before heading home on Sunday after the race.

We also camp at Lowes Motor Speedway.  For that track, we stay at one of the track campgrounds.  It is more expensive ($150 for the Tim Flock campground), but we are just across the street from our seats.

No mater where you stay, you will have a great time camping at a Nascar event!
