Loose wires??

I took out the pop-up for the first time this weekend.  In the driveway, everything worked fine.  Got it to the campground and the interior lights didn't work.  I checked the breakers - they are fine.  Everything else works fine.  The strangest thing today, I leaned up against the sink area and the lights went on.  Now, I assume that it is just a loose wire, but how in the world is this wired that leaning on the sink would make the right contact??  Also, I tried to take the interior lights off but they are riveted on.  How am I supposed to tighten wiring that I can't get to?  Any ideas would be helpful.

There is a switch under the sink galley.  When you raise the sink into the operating position the switch is pressed to make the lights work.  Check to make sure the switch is alligned with the underside of the galley so it gets pushed all the way down.  This is a safety feature to make sure that the lights are off when the camper is closed down so it doesn't over heat and start a fire.

Welcome to PUT.

ccarr113 has it exactly; sometimes the safety switch under the sink can get out of alignment, and once in a while the connection to the switch is loose.  The worst case is that the switch needs replacement, but I've only heard of that once.

Thanks both of you.  I set it up at home and it happened again.  It turned out that the water supply lines were in the way of the galley completely lowering into place.  I was about to freak out when it didnt work again.

I grew up in Stoughton (north of Brockton), and lived there for 43 years before moving to Minnesota in '03.  I would have changed my Nick to AustinMN (like I did everywhere else on the web), but I put it to a vote and the vote was clearly to keep AustinBoston.
