Just a side note. When you start a comment, or sentence with "color", you have to "close" it with the same choice which is "color".
 Example:     yahoo

Choose your color (color=teal)yahoo then you hit close current tag that is on the far right with a box that has a red X in it.

Well Freedom 5 or anyone out there in computer land any other ideas why my color isn't working.....I hit the color I wanted then typed my word then hit the close current tag X.  Then I did a preview of post and it still was black......Now I wonder if it has anything to do with me using a Mac and not a PC,,,,,,, anyone else using a Mac?  Is there a setting I haven't marked?
Sure would like to know why I can't use my color love my Mac laptop hardly ever open up and use my desktop PC anymore.  I JUST NEED COLOR......
 :D

Try typing the word then click hold & drag your mouse over the word to highlight it and then go up to the pull down menu and choose your color

See I can change color on my PC....
When I can get our son-in-law to look at my settings maybe he can find out why it won't work on my Mac.
Wayne tried on his mac and it worked just fine so it has to be something in my computer.

Lori here, but I'm too lazy to log in under my own screen name.

Here's a quick and completely oversimplified "tutorial" on Web formatting for these message boards:

To make something a particular color, for example, dark red in your quote above, you need to tell the formatting when to turn on and when to turn off. You do that by writing things in "code." So to turn on dark red color formatting, the code is: "" without the spaces between the equal sign and words and without the quotation marks

Then you write whatever it is that you want to be in dark red color, and then you need to tell the formatting to turn off. You do that by writing this: "" again without the quotes. You must remember to include the forward slash, as it is the mark that tells the formatting to turn off.

So to write the words "dark red" in dark red color, you would write the following code: "dark red" once again without the spaces between the words and equal sign quotes, which would then look like this: dark red

You can even change "dark red" to blue: blue or green: green just by changing "DarkRed" in the coding to blue or green in the code language. This holds true for other formatting as well, like bold: b and /b; underline: u and /u; italic: i and /i, etc., which in code would be written like this: ["b"]bold dark red["/b"] but without the quotes and spaces and which would appear on the webpage as this: bold dark red

You may not even realize it, but you also see this type of coding every time you reply to a post with a quote--the coding is "
blah, blah, blah. yada, yada, yada.
" without the spaces or quotes, which then looks like this:

Quote from: griffsmomblah, blah, blah. yada, yada, yada.
It's really not that hard, once you get the idea of how simple coding works. The most common mistake is forgetting the forward slash to turn off the formatting. I hope that makes sense and helps to explain things.

Then again, it could be completely different for a mac... ;)

Hahahaaaaaaa It's not that I do not know how to get the color it's that I can't figure out why my Mac will not let me......SNL said maybe it's my firewall on the mac??  He is going to take a look see when he finds some extra time........So until then if I want color I have to use my PC desk top which takes soooooooooooooo long to boot up.

Carol,

Use "Clean-Up" and defrag the hard drive. It will do miracles. I sent you a PM with all the instructions and downloads.

Oops! Sorry for misunderstanding!  By the way, since when has Saturday Night Live been in the business of diagnosing computers?  Next thing you know, Dave'll be trying to get Tina Fey to look at his hard drive. ;)
