There's a saying..."A fed bear is a dead bear."  I'd bet it's true of these deer (look like mule deer to me) as well.

When does deer season start?

Viking, that was really special. Russ

The guy in that video is serving the deer dog food, dried corn or maybe even deer food that is sold at feed stores. Notice that the two plates the people are eating from come prepared to the table and listen to the pellets hit the plates for the deer. In the Adirondacks of NYS a camper would get evicted from the campsite for feeding deer at all let alone setting a table for them They would also be fined by the DEC. I believe in NYS it is illegal to feed deer within 500 feet of a roadway. Besides I wouldn't want deer that close to my camp - deer ticks and Lyme disease.

We had the same "problem" at Greenleaf SP in north eastern Oklahoma. We had to chase them out of our camp as they where stealing our breads and being a menace. At first it was kinda cool but it got old fast. Beautiful SP by the way. Lots and lots of wildlife.

At Assateague Island National Seashore there are wild horses.  You are not allowed to pet or feed any animals in the park.  A group of us were eating dinner at the picnic table and a band of bachelor stallions decided to join us.  A few of us ended up pushing the horses out of the way.  They really wanted our dinner.  If the rangers saw us I was hoping they would understand why we were touching the horses.:)

Well, I suppose we all owe you  big THANK YOU for ruining what most seem to think was a cool thing to happen.   If there is anything else you find that is WRONG with this video that was posted to entertain, please, let us know.  I can tell you are a Yankee's fan. Geeeeez

It was a cute video but it is important to understand the overall picture. What these people were doing was out of ignorance (I would hope).

Most people know that feeding wild animals in and around state parks can be dangerous for the animals as well as the campers. However, a lot of people choose to ignore that fact and selfishly feed their own desire for that "Personal" experience.

Deer can actually become quite aggressive if they want something, especially once they lose their fear of humans. A young child with food in their hand could easily get a hoof up along side the head to get that food away from them.

So, looking at the video again, notice how he has his truck parked in the background with //www.sailingtexas.com shamelessly on the tailgate, and then on the bottom of the video is //www.music4musicians.com.

Well, check out both websites and you will find a lot more information on the deer and the couple having breakfast. The video was done in their back yard, they are whitetail deer and they are feeding them on a mixture of corn and "Record Rack Professional Deer Feed".
They even have one deer that likes to come into their house!!

So as Dee put it

Light - in - up :D
