About to buy and looking for and positive or negative feed back on towing with a 3.3 liter 6cyl 2003 Grand Caravan. Will be towing appx 2200 and can't wait to camp! Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have a 2002 Grand Caravan with the Mitsubishi 3.3 liter V6. I haven't towed my Pup with it and don't plan to (way too heavy - Fleetwood E3) but I have towed my quad trailer with it many times. My trailer holds 3 quads and loaded is about 2000#. I haven't used a weight distribution hitch (WDH) with it and everything has been fine. My quad trailer also does not have brakes.

I think if I were to tow a longer distance than the 2 hours I normally go, I would invest in a WDH.

Check your manual to find out what the Caravan can tow. I haven't checked in a while but I think it was around 3000#. As many folks on this board have said, you want to have some room left over so try to avoid towing at the limits of your tow vehicle.

Good luck and if you can't find the numbers for your Caravan, let me know and I'll check my documentation again.

The 3.3L is a Chrysler enginge. The only V6 engine from Mitsubishi is the 3.0L.

AW378. Thanks for the info. I also owned a 1998 Grand Caravan with the 3.0 liter engine. I thought they were both Mitsubishi. Thanks for setting me straight.

We have seen alot of Caravans towing the smaller pups,just make sure you add a transmission cooler,and check your weight you towing.
