We never had either in any of our 4 popups. We did have to get up in nights a few times when the kids were small but I am not sure if popups had porti potties or whatever almost 20 years ago.

Getting a bit more mature, we went to the hybrid for the full facilities and were glad we did.  Nice to only have to walk a few feet in the middle of the night.   Bathrooms in a hyrid are a bit more private.

Funny, but we didn't use the shower all that much. Mainly if we were not happy with the cg showers.

We have had the tt since July and we haven't used a cg shower except when dry camping at Acadia.

As others have said, it is a personal choice.  With young kids or the graying older set, some type of pottie would come in handy.

We have both. Portables would work but... prefrence is the key.
The shower only gets used once in a while. In the 7 + yrs we've had the camper the showers been used a small handfull of times. n QUOTE]
