In a few weeks we will be camping in a park without hookups. Knowing we will need lights, furnace etc I went to test the equipement hooked up to the battery. Nothing works  :(  On inspection I see the connector from the battery to the connector on the popup is corroded. Where do I find these? I went into Fleet Farm last night and they didn't have any.

Are these cleanable or is it just a case of snipping them off and reattaching new ones.

I hope I'm making sense. I have a 2000 Coleman Cheyenne. It's the connection (plug) that allows me to connect the battery to the popup.

It's better to just clip them off and attach any 2 prong connector that will handle 10-12g wire (from Radio Shack). However, if I were you, I would take this opportunity to replace the entire wires, all the way from the converter to the battery (black) and battery to the frame (white). The wire that they use in these PUs really aren't designed to be in the weather. I would suggest replacing both wires with 10G marine wire. It will last forever and it will be one more thing that you will never have to be concerned about. Several people have reported those wires being bad on their PUs. The wire tends to corrode inside the insulation.

The fact is, you don't even need that disconnect connector. All you have to do is remove the hot wire (black) from your battery after you get home and reattach it before you tow again.

Thanks Wavery. That makes sense, why even bother with the connector. I have time before we camp so I'll do the job right.  :D
