Camped there the weekend of Oct 12th, 13, and 14th.
This really is a quite nice park East Fork SP As you can see, there are over 380 sites and there's plenty of different types of sites to choose from. From full sun stacked right next to each other to the relatively secluded site, like we chose - on the G loop. There are lots of hiking and equestrian trails that traverse most if not all of the park. The lake looks like it would be nice but because of the drought, it was way way down. There are a few camp sites that sort of overlook the lake or one of the creeks that feed it, but because of the underbrush and foliage you cannot really see much of the lake from the sites but I imagine that if the lake was up to normal levels it would better. These sites that do overlook the lake are non-reservable though so you would need to get there before Friday afternoon if you want one of these. The site we had #278 was adequately isolated. The fire-pit is located behind the paved parking spot and is located in a clearing in the woods. We found it much to our liking. The restroom were also adequate. They could have been cleaner but they weren't too bad. The only real gripes I have are that on both Friday and Saturday night there were campers partying that did not obey the quite time. There were a bunch of kids and they ran around screaming and playing until well after midnight. Also the speed-limits were not enforced. We, and many other, were riding our bicycles around the park and people were driving cars at 35-40 MPH in 20 MPH zone. Neither one of these gripes is really the fault of the park except that they could enforce the rules better. We also did manage to find 3 geocaches out of the more than 20 that are hidden in and around this parks, but I'll do a separate post in the geocache section for those.
Ratings?
Sites -8 everyone should be able find something to their liking
Showers and Restrooms -7 not bad but some room for improvement.
Things to do in the park -8 based on the trails and the geocaches
Enforcement of rules -4 not really too bad but definitely room for improvement.

Overall I'll rate it an 8. Pretty good. We'll probably go back.

Thanks for the review.  I've not been there in a few years and never in a camper.  It was back in the tent days.  Now with kids, I recall there were nice playgrounds near the camp sites that will come in handy.

I love the sites on the woods, but you have to get there early to get the good ones.

East Fork is loaded with skunks, I know that much.  We had to keep a close eye on the dog.

If you're ever looking for another nice park in that area, less than an hour west, Miami Whitewater is very nice as well.

We do too. There were really quite a few that either butted up to the woods or were more or less surrounded on three sides by trees.  I usually go on google maps or Campground map and use the satellite view to try to get an idea of what the camp sites look like. Sometimes you can tell a lot sometimes not, but usually we can at least get an idea of which site(s) we are interested in before we reserve a site.

Yes, you are right about that! I forgot to mention that the playground equipment is relatively new and in good condition. Had DD '03 rated this Park she would have given it a 10.

I did not know that. We didn't see any but I think I did smell 'em.

Thanks for the recommendation. We'll have to check it out.

Nice.  I never thought of trying something like this.  Then again, when I grew up camping darn near every weekend, it was back in the stone ages when an Apple IIe was good for word processing and playing Jeopardy and little else.
