And it is Myrtle Beach...Raymond said yes to towing all the way down to MB for the week...we waited too long to get a time share...

We will have a beachy site at Apache Campgound at the north end of MB, but not quite North MB.  It has the fishing pier for Raymond, they take my Good Sam, at $25.00/night with water/electric/sewer AND Cable, that is a bargain (even without the discount).

Anyone else up to MB????

We looked at this one a few years ago when we had a time share down the beach.  Sites are tight. But we plan on taking most meals out, so will pack light, that means the gravy boat etal stays in the Bantam, we are taking the CabinA so we can take the minivan. Corolla stays home this trip.

Actually weekend was the wrong word, it is week, Saturday to Saturday, but I understand Tracy, don't really expect anyone to drive that far.

Sorry Paula, I have reservations at Spring Gulch near Shady Maple.

I'm out for Breakfast Saturday after Thanksgiving this year...too far to drive to Shady Maple. Actually that is when we will be heading back and should be around Wilmington NC about that time.

Catchy thread title caught my eye, sounds like a nice place but too far of a drive for me too for the weekend ;)

enjoy your week..I'm jealous.. :W

Anaheim??? I do think so...you have to know my husband to understand the title.  he refuses to take the camper very far, he relents on Rallys, but if he comes, he drives his own car so he can leave when he feels like it...even 12 hours away, like to Cherokee NC. So for him to agree when I threw it up to him, and he gave me a dirty look, went to the internet, came back and told me to go ahead and book if I wanted to...that knocked me over with a feather.

Dee4j, I do have an extra camper, the Bantam, sleeps 7, if you want to fly out...You pay for the airline tickets and the gas for the F150 (personal use gas) and the camper is yours to use for Thanksgiving week... I do not REALLY expect you to bite...

hmmm..I wonder If your husband and mine are related    :J

Thanks for the offer that is sweet but I would have to buy at least 2 tickets..DD would KILL me if I went camping without her. DS is like his Dad only likes to go to hang out with his camping friend Zach.

maybe someday a "meet in the middle" will happen for all of PUT :p

We are back, Apache, the beach sites are not too small, but not like a SP. The natives, and there were a lot of seasonals on the beach sites, were friendly enough.  The fish WERE NOT biting.

Please tell me. I know cigarette prices are considerably lower down there, but do all Carolinians smoke??? We did find some non smoking resturaunts. But the resturaunt on the fishing pier was filled with smoke and the camppers all smoked outside. So me, with my multiple Chemical sensitivity had a hard time there.  The sites were close enough that the candles the neighbor were burning in their camper, came wafting into ours. The temps were great, to warm to keep the trailer closed up but too cool to run the AC without it icing up...

When we got there, it was too windy to put out the awning and it never got put out.

We did make the Carolina Stampede (Dolly Parton's place) and the show was great and it is totally nonsmoking and non-alcoholic...even Raymond liked it.

Staying in the Cabin A with Raymond was a trial. he is sloppy. There is no place to hide anything in there and he left things just laying around and got mad at my nagging...tearing down, as sick as I was, was made even harder by his constantly trying to help (like taking off the sewer line before I was done washing the bathroom. removing the trash before I was done wiping everything down, he even got on the ground, on his back to raise the stablizers, as many times as he has seen me do it, he did not realize they were the crank kind...). setting up, i gave him the bag with the water hose, told him he had to take the stopper out of the water intake, he could not figure out how to pull the plug out...

BUT he did get the check engine light to go off, the valve cover bolts were loose, he tightened them down, took off the battery cable and the light remains off 4 days later!!! SO he is good for something, and taking care of his sick wife, not expecting me to cook ANYTHING the whole time we were gone.

So Paula, are you saying you had a good time?  :)

If you consider a do-nutt'n vacation because you are too sick to do anything...and being in an 11' box with a tobacco chewing crotchetty old man fun, then yes I had a ball!!

Actually Becky, it was not too bad.  Apache is on the north End of MB, in the county. It is big, with a lot of seasonals, but it is not one of the mega campgrounds that are on the south end of the beach.

There is a Walmart Supercenter about a mile away, with a Steak and Shake, Bojangles and Golden Corral all almost brand new and an out let center in the same center and across the street. so every thing we needed was close by.  Even a mall about a mile and a half or so. But we did not even darken the parking lot.

I thought about Andy with the opening act to the Dixie Stampede. he as an man whose mother is Japanese and Chinese, his father is Spanish and Portugese. he said that made him italian...everybody laughed...
he was a jugler and did 8 rings at one point and another time he juggled 3 daggers.

It was the last few days that were bad, when all the smokers moved in.  I had no plans when I went there, so I was not disappointed, except with all the smokers towards the end of the week. Raymond claims he was bored. I bought a small 20" HD flat screen for this trip as it fits nicely in the trailer and got cable cord, running it through the storage area and into the cabin through the finger hole.  Sites were 30 amp, water, sewer and electric cable and ours had phone if we wanted to hookup, but with cell phones, that was a moote point.

Since I rarely hike, bike or anything when I am camping, then yes it was OK for me, but next time I want to take the big trailer if Raymond (or anyone) comes.
