You've got our prayers too. God helps them that help themselves. It surely seems like Brett is doing his part and we will do ours.

Jamesdad

You are in our prayers as well, time heals. Keep all of us posted on his recovery.

Roberta,
Could you send an address of the rehab place so we can send Brett a Xmas and get well card? A flood of cards from all of us, could not hurt.
Our prayers for Brett and your family!

Thanks for the update, I have been thinking about him a lot lately and continue to send him prayers. Not that I'm an expert or a psychic, I do have a really good feeling about his recovery. It will be a long haul but I know he will eventually recover.

Brett even keep up your spirits and your determination. I know you can do it. I watched a movie last week called the peaceful warrior and I thought of you.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!! you have a great family who loves and supports you... Hang in there and get well soon.

Roberta!  Did your son get the kids' cards they made.  Matt really tried to get him into the Christmas spirit with his Christmas scene.  I hope they brought a smile to his face and enjoyed them.

Merry Christmas

Got an e-mail from Brett the other day. Thought maybe if I posted it here it would shed some light on what he was going through.

HELLO THERE. I don't even know your name. But I am Brett Palser who was in that accident. It was pretty bad. The story goes it was me and two of my friends and we were on a ride. My buddy leading was in a buggy and my other buddy was behind him on his quad and i was in the back of the pack just kinda cruising. The two went over a dune and around a bowl and was coming back and i didnt see them and i was right about to hit the buggy so i locked up all my brakes went over the bars and the quad nailed me right in the back. I broke my back in many places. I am now fused from T12 vertabra to my L4, and lots of metal in my back. So thats part of my story i would love to hear from you again so if you could e mail me back that would be great

thanks
brett

Hi all....

Brett came home December 27.  He is doing pretty well.  We almost have the modifications on our home completed, but enough so Brett had a warm room and a bathroom to come home to.  Brett did get his cards.  It was truly emotional.  We cried and then put them up all over his room at re-hab.  They sent him home because he made so much improvement in such a short period of time. And this is a good thing.. But because of his back brace, there wasn't much more they could do with him.  His back brace is very cumbersome and doesn

Roberta,

Wow! What challenges! Even as an old Level I Trauma Center nurse, I guess I never thought about what happens after they leave us, and then leave rehab.

While reading your post, I could literally hear the love and patience that you have developed (and probably already had much of).

I hope someone can help you rent a wheelchair van.

May God continue to bless you, Brett, and your good neighbors.

$3500 a month t rent a "wheel chair van" :yikes:  :yikes:  :yikes: That's $42K a year....... :yikes:  :yikes:  :yikes:  :yikes:  :yikes:

There are quite a few used ones on the market between $4K and $20K. You could buy one then sell it when your finished with it and lose very little, I would think. just my $.02

Check these out:
San Diego:
This 1st one is only $3700 and it even has a tow pkg (for the PU)
