                 How much did that set you back you back if you don't mind me asking? I thought about that type of enclosure. I would need one that is more than 24'. Just a thought. I do okay storing outside, but that is nice.

This is the one from Harbor Freight.  It runs $297 on their website.  I found it locally on Craigslist for $130.  I've got 2 of the 10x20 Costco garages at $149ea and they are much nicer and much better quality.  I was going to get another one to house the PUP and my car tow dolly, but the last time I looked at them, they had changed the design to include huge zip up windows on the sides and vent flaps on the roof.  All that stuff (based on my experience with them) just makes them fail sooner as flaps tear out and zipper seems come unstitched.

Here's what I did a couple of years ago to protect my Honda personal watercraft during the winter months. I made it out of 1/2" pvc, some fittings and a couple of tarps. I don't see why one couldn't do this themselves for a pup. It would have to be a lot bigger than the one I built, but it should work.

Yep, possibly.  My biggest concern is keeping the rain and sun off it.  To me, keeping them dry and shaded without having them wrapped in a tarp is 99% of the battle.

can that withstand snow and ice or is it only for warmer climate states?  Great idea, no more rearranging the garage to put the PUP in for the winter....

I think that the only thing that I might do is cut the  six vertical supports down so that it is has a lower profile, unless that would make the whole thing too narrow .

I think that I would just cut the lower vertical sections, right in the center, half way between the ground and that horizontal beam (just above the roof of the PU). Then I'd lower the top half and strap the sections back together where they would then overlap, at a height just enough to clear the PU roof.

That would give it better stability in the wind and still give you the air space that you want. It would also discourage you from stacking stuff on top of the PU.......  :sombraro:

We sell those (or something very similar) at the store where I work.  I had the same idea - to cut it shorter for the PUP. Customers have bought these in our area and they tell me that they will last 4 or 5 seasons, more with a little care. (taking it down in the summer,tying it sown well, taking care of any flapping, etc ASAP)

Since my Pixel cat LOVES the camper - and I regularly open the door, even when folded up, for him to explore - I'm not too worried about mice and critters.  I think he's killed off most of the chipmunks, mice & voles in the neighborhood.  Even though I have large trees, I seldom see any since Pixel moved in a few years ago! Especially near my house!

My only problem is that my house is too wide on my lot for me to get my PUP either beside my house or behind my house to store the PUP - let alone set up one of those things.  I like my big garage - but the previous owners had to get a zoning variance to build it into the easement, and now there's less than 8' of space on the garage side, and the bedroom end has trees.

My old PUP is stored on the side of the driveway - with a tarp over it and some cardboard boxes on the roof for airflow.  I'm lucky to have tolerant neighbors who don't mind my camper out there.  I'm hoping to still find a cheap, indoor storage for it - at least thru the rest of snow months.

I didn't get to fix up the roof the way I wanted to before the weather hit and I'm a bit worried about it.  I think it needed more caulk - the replaced board was showing a bit of damp.  Right now, though - we have at least 6 " of ice-encrusted snow over everything and more on the way - so even if I DID find a place to store it indoors, I don't know if I could get it out of there!

You might see me out there trying to melt it loose with a hairdryer! LOL!

That is a great idea Wayne....but you're too late. I already have some new-to-me carpet for the Suburban stored on top of the PUP! HA!

We had a couple days of really hard rain and wind and this thing did great, so I'm pleased....and even more so, knowing the PUP wasn't sitting out in that weather.

My brother did as you suggest with one of those 10x20 garages that Costco sells.  He cut the legs down and turned his into a cover for his boat.  So it's nice-n-low, and fits the boat like a glove.  Worked slick!

Ha! Now that's great.  It it a small world or what?  We've known Doug & Debbie since we moved this house over here in Dec. 1993.  In fact, that's how we all met. They were standing out front as it came up the street on the truck.
