Those are fantastic!  Keep us posted with more of your works.

I have not had any results like that yet. I have done a sign for the camper with a pop-camping scene by our family name, and have done a small woodburnings representing something at each campsite.  I just use a Lenk solder-iron type woodburning kit my wife got for me online.

This summer she raised an huge supply of birdhouse gourds.  When they are dry, I would like to use them for woodburning.

When we do the nearby camping to just chill out I bring the burner along. Been burning about a yr and a half now.... what burner do you use?

You can find my burnings here

Marcy,

That is awesome work! I really never knew it could be done so nicely.

And, what a small world. I'm a pyrographer too! Here is a picture of my work, and me at work:

Holly and I used to ride ATV's frequently. However, that has dwindled to nothing.

Little Peanut (Jessie) is now our hobby. We have also bought a bigger house, so that is also another new hobby: moving.

Holly likes to sew, and does a little of that. I also do a lot of tinkering in the garage with the ATV's and mods to trailer.

LMAO Larry, Gary has that exact same talent !  His talent has  improved greatly since we got the LaFuma wannabe chairs.

Like that bumper sticker that the South Carolina DNR puts out (which I have on my camper),

"Eat ... Sleep ... Go Fishing"

I think that about covers it. Oh, and the feather and squirrel tail remnants that float around the house from my fly tying obsession. And let's not be making fun of my hand tied flies ... I'll have you know they caught one fish after another on my August trip to Alaska. Of course, finding anything the fish there would not bite on is a challenge!

Ok, so I didn't want to be that guy who replies to everyones' posts in a thread I started, but I am going to anyway after seeing LimeJeeps picture and looking at Brainpauses website (Windrock OHV area pictures).

A buddy of mine took me out in his '74 Bronco to Windrock OHV of all places last Saturday for the first time and I am absolutely hooked.  DW is going to kill Greg for exposing me to yet another expensive hobby.  I have owned a '94 Wrangler for over a decade now, but now I can't help dreaming of large tires, axles, etc.

LimeJeeeep

For starters to see if it is something you like to do and keep doing you can pick up an inexpensive burner at a Michaels craft store. About half of what I've done so far is with one of those..they are harder to control and hold if you have a small hand.  I burn on cabinet grade ply wood and cuts from trees. Birch and Basswood mostly with a little maple thrown in.

After a year I bought a good one.The burner I'm using now was bought at a woodcarving show, it is what they call a detailer and has temperature control.  The pens are narrower & much easier to hold for me.

Google pyrography and you'll pull up lots of info and unbelievably talented people. They make what I do look like chicken scratch.

southpennrailroad

We are going camping this December 29-1st of January at Cove Plaza east of Breezewood on the abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike to do some abandoned South Penn railroad right of way research and exploring that alignment looking for 120 year old work. Have a generator, propane heater and cameras and other winter safety things to get this done.
