Quote from: AzusateachAlas, I'm not.  I'll be spending Saturday at the Pet Expo at the O.C. Fairgrounds and Sunday grading papers.

Lori, I'll think non-snake thoughts for you.  Remember step lightly and carry a BIG stick!  ;)  ;)

Laura

I wouldn't worry so much about the snakes..it's the big Spiders that I worry about :eyecrazy:  ;)

I like the pet expo...you'll have fun..

I thought I read somewhere that Joshua Tree is the largest Snake and Spider populated area in the USA.  :Z

Late breaking news!!

We won't be able to attend! :(

DS has been running a low grade fever, (the real reason).  And my DD just found out that her T-ball make-up pictures and a pizza party are on Saturday, (the icing on the proverbial cake).

Anyone want to buy my site, it's the James Bond site, (number 007)!!  I'll wait for a response for a few hours before I cancel the reservation.  I just read the fine print about the $20 fee for no-shows, without a formal cancellation.

Thanks, Laura.  I'll take the stick I use to beat Griffin over the head when doing homework. :J

Jason and I are going.  We're planning to leave in 1-1/2 hours.  I just started packing.  No trailer, just tent camping.  I expect that I will forget a lot of stuff!  Not sure what we'll eat.  Not sure if I'll do a potluck... wait- the old standby- Tri-Tip.  Maybe French Toast for B-fast.

Hey Jim, I forgot a case of beer. Could you please bring some. Thanks

Good time had by all...

But my idea of some tent camping to "toughen us up" for backpacking this summer seems not such a good idea in hindsight.  An extra blanket and a pillow sure would have been nice.  The raging head colds that both Jason and I are experiencing didn't help either.

Got home to find Long Beach 10 degrees hotter than the desert.  Kristi saved the day by making pina coladas.

We had a great time and the weather was wonderful.  We only saw 1 snake near Griffsmom's site and several lizards of various sizes.  There was dirt but nothing a good sweeping each day wouldn' t take care of.  My kids and Griffin literally lost the seats of their pants by scooting down the rocks.  It's a good thing I brought their old, less desirable clothes.  The concensus was that DH will try and do this rally again next year.

What a great weekend.  Five hour drive both ways...that was not so good, but teasing Kim at the campfire...priceless...

We would love to go back to the campground with Sean next time...we watched all the kids climb the rocks and the professional climbers tackle the big ones right across the road from us!  We had a wonderful breeze most of the weekend which made it comfortable...the food was great and having a small group gave us a chance to meet and visit with everyone...Air 58 Baby Ronin stole the show...what a cutie!
