Has anyone had there cell phone company port there land line to there cell phone, any problems. Ive got Verizon with 2 phones and ATT with our landline, the way I figure it I could save about $30.00 per month.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure what Porting is, but we are currently moving to a new house. We are dropping the AT&T landline, and keeping our cellphone, thereby saving about $38/month.

Even our home security company is hooking up the system to a cell system for only $10 extra per month, so we are still saving $28/month.

My brother who is a CPA dropped his work phone and ported the number to a cell phone.  A couple of small bumps, but it finally worked out.

Larry,  Porting is the term used for moving a phone number from one company to another.  The actual term is "Local Number Portability" now "Wireless Local Number Portability".  Check out

I got a Direct TV receiver that didn't need a land line and went to cell phones only without attempting to keep the same phone number for landline service.  Went to satellite internet service also. Don't regret the switch!
