New owner of a Bayside 2002...
We have yet to spend a night in it and are totally new to the whole pop up thing.  We bought it a year ago and just put it up outside with the hopes of using it or atleast letting the children sleep in it in our yard for a night.

When we first got it there was a slight mildew smell but I did assume that that might be expected.

However putting it up I just now noticed a mildew mark of about 12 inches by 4 on the canvas above the refridge area near a bed.

So it is inside the pop up on the fabric side.

What are my options on how to remove/ kill this?

I was hoping someone who has Been there and done that could share what they did.

Thank you in advance,
Neve

10% solution of bleach & water. Try it in an obscure spot first to check color stability. After cleaning, re-apply water proofing.

However, I think that you might want to find out how it got there in the first place. Are there any stains in the ceiling?

If there is a noticeable mildew odor, it could be wood-rot. Mildew on the fabric doesn't usually produce very much odor unless it is extensive. That should be explored carefully.

Thank you for the reply...will do that.

The mildew marks are not from the ceiling area but from the bottom area of the canvas. For example from this picture of the Bayside it is on the inside of the Bayside where the dark blue strip of canvas (pleather look) is.

I would suspect the seal on the top. Whatever it is, you should try to eliminate the source.

Also, check the wall and floor very carefully. If you've had water intrusion, it will make it's way to the floor via the wall. The walls and floor are made of a composite and it rots easily. I doubt what you are smelling is coming from that small spot.
