Keen Lake campground and cottages has been selected for the 2008 PUT Eastern Rally. The campground is in the Pocono mountains of northeastern Pa. The official dates are July 13 to the 18th although many of us go for at least a week. When making your reservation tell them that you are with the Pop Up Times group. I asked about not charging for children, but they will not budge on that. Janet and Jane are our contact people at the campground. If you stay 7 nights or more you do get 10% off. Deposit for a full week is $100.00. If you need to cancel and do it more than 2 weeks before the rally you get a refund minus a $5.00 handling charge. After you make your reservation post here and I will add you to the list. I don't think you will get a site number at this point. They want to be able to keep us together. If you have any questions post away. Everyone is welcome to attend the rally. Having a PU is not required.:)

If I missed this somewhere, I apologize.

What are their reservation requirements re: deposit?  Are they asking for the full amount for the week in advance, one night deposit, credit card number to hold or something else?  We don't want to put another large amount on our credit card at this point in time after Christmas.  We also booked a cruise for Feb. back in Nov that's affecting current finances.  We'd be more likely to make a reservation now if they're just taking credit card numbers or one night in advance.  If they want the full amount, we may wait a couple of months to make reservations.

Thanks for all your work on this.

Dave the deposit for a full week is $100.00.  If you have to cancel and give them at least 2 weeks notice you get a refund of $95.00.  There is a $5 service fee.  Sorry i didn't have this information in the first post.  I added it now.

OK, my deposit is made for a full hookup site.

July 12-19th.

dademt

Ok, we are in also.  Booked the 12-20th.  I will have to leave for part of the week for work but Nic and the kids will be there the whole time.  I might even leave Mooch for protection.  LOL.

Paula and Scott I am glad you made your reservations.:D

Me and Michele too.

Cheryl

I made our deposit payment today and Jennifer (at the Keen Lake office) kindly informed me that they will probably only be able to hold the open reservations for another 5 days or so. Then they will probably have to open them up to the general public. There is another large group that wants to camp in the same general area and they overlap with our week, so reservations could get a little confusing. Thought I would pass this on to the group as a whole. Two of the six in my group have made their deposits and I'm going to give the other four a hard nudge about it this weekend.
Happy camping,
Cheryl

I'm in for July 12 to 18th.

I forgot I'm there the 12th to the 19th.

I emailed them today to reserve a site from July 12-19. Not sure yet if we can do it but hope so. With all the added fees for a/c and my 3 kids, it could cost almost $500 for the week - which is crazy so I'll wait to see. If only Kels comes, it's much more reasonable.

If we want to run a/c and we're already on an electric or full hookup site, do we need to "upgrade" to 50 amps - that costs an additional $3/day? I know we have to pay an extra $2/day to run the a/c.

Tracy or Dee, do you know WHERE our group will go? Is it the pioneer Group area?

For those going for less than 7 nights, there is a mid week special that may apply to you.

July Mid-week Melee CAMPERS - Make your reservation for three-consecutive nights of camping for a mid-week stay (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) in July and receive a 10% discount on the base camping fee. May not be used with other discounts.
(To receive this Camping Special you must reference Product Code JM2008)

Di we will be up around the activity field, Sun Rise Knoll (SRK).  The pavilion is there for our use along with bathrooms, playground equipment and outdoor games.

SheBantam

Di 50 amp service is for the "behemouths". Our campers use standard 30 amp for our air.  20 amp will do if not running air.
To use the 50 amp, you would need an adapter, as the plugs are 30 amp standard on the trailers.

Hope that helps and is not too confusing.

DiW

Thanks Paula. That's one thing I don't have to pay for :#
