We, (CA citizens), should charge the Schwarzenegger rent, ..... a usage fee, for using the Governor's Mansion. :p

Here's an idea: why don't we take the state park reservation system away from ReserveAmerica and return it to the State. At $7.50/reservation, that ought to put some money back in the coffers, and we might even be able to get reservations at beach cgs during the summer months...:rolleyes:

My guess would be that there would be money involved in hiring someone to do the reservation website, and costs involved with that as well.  Not sure but thats my guess...

Unfortunately, the "Govenator" doesn't live in the mansion.   He lives in a hotel (Hyatt?) when he is in Sacramento.  I also remember reading that he doesn't receive a pay check.   I would say the states biggest $$$ item with the Governor is all the overtime the state spends on paying the CHP to guard Arnold and his family.  A friend of ours is one of his body guards and he earns a ridiculous amount of overtime (100 + hours a month) to keep Arnold safe.  Plus, all the travel expenses for these people.

Just to put this to bed.  They are closing some of the Beaches here in SoCal.  There are also some that won't close, but will be without Lifeguards,  While others will remain unchanged.  The link i posted sucks, but the info is out there  so I would do some research before heading to the beach.  That's all.
