I've spent a lot of time looking at the Aliners for an article in the next issue of the magazine. Plus I just helped out Kerola's campers at the Pittsburgh RV show with his little campers - including Aliner.

Both Aliner & Chalet have models with bathrooms now,  we'll see if either wants me in one of their units bad enough to make me a deal I can't refuse.

Maybe they would want a woman's perspective on a camper...I volunteer to  try one for the summer.  :D

Aliners are made in PA.  goto their website's dealer finder //www.aliner.com

I've spent alot of time camping in an Aliner :)
Aliner or Chalet , you and Shirley (it is Shirley right?? CRS) would be happy.
Hmmmmmmm......You get campers, keep 'em for a year and sell em...
I'll put my order in now,  how 'bout a Chalet XL with the dormer... like this one :sombraro:

That's pretty cool.  If I didn't already have the land yacht with a hitch, I could almost be talked into one of those...

OK - who logged into my account an edited my post to answer my question?  While I appreciate the information, I find this offensive.

If this was done by a moderator or ADMIN, I am more than a little peeved.  Respond to my question with your own post, not by hacking mine.

Not sure who did it, Jim. What did your original post say?

I would admit to it if I did it. But I bet it may have been edited for clarity or for a working link. But I don't know.

I posted that, but not from your account, from mine. I probably hit the edit key instead of the reply button by mistake, they're next to each other.

I remember you saying you were going to an RV show in Edison NJ and asked if there were any dealers in the PA NJ  NY area and I was responding with Aliner's website

Now that I think about it, I wondered why your response wasn't high lighted when I hit what I thought was the reply button.

Sorry

Larry - thanks for the reassurance, but I was 99.99% sure it was not another member.

My post stated that I was going to the Edison, NJ RV/camping show on Saturday and we had hoped to find some Aliners there.  My mom is seriously considering one, but I was having trouble finding a dealer in the PA/NJ/NY area.  I live in PA and my mom lives in NJ.

Dave - I appreciate your "'fessing up".  It was quite disconcerting, and at first I thought someone had hijacked my account, but I found no other "anomalies" in my other recent posts.

Honestly, it appeared that it was hacked to make me look like a shill for Aliner.  I surmise from what you said that as the site admin, you can edit someone else's post, as well as reply to them?

Let's keep our fingers under control, shall we . . .  :)  :)  :)

Here's a cup of  :morning:

Jim,

Glad we found an easy answer. Obviously, Dave accidentally hit the wrong button. That's the reason Dave and I aren't in charge of the shiny red buttons in the missile silos.  :D

I think you'll find that we moderators and admin don't mess with posts unless it violates rules (found on the board), or to fix links, etc. Something legitimate.

I am impressed with the a-frames as well, especially with the quality finish, better suited for cold-weather camping, and quick set-up.  Don't care for losing some space, the cost, and the lack of "openness" however.  I look forward to the article.

DW and I have owned both an Aliner and a Chalet. We started with a Aliner Expedition LXE with front bath and currently own a Chalet XL 1910 with the optional bath over the axle.

Comparing the two campers is like apples and oranges.

The restroom in the old Expedition was almost impossible for me to use as I am 6'2" tall. However, the Chalet XL has the restroom over the axle, so that I can stand up. We never used the shower in the Expediton, but have used the Chalet's.

Where we had counter space and the bath on the Expedition, we now have a dinette table.

We covered the rear dinette with a full size Queen mattress and are quite happy with our unit.

We also have a custom license plate that says "CVRDWGN" which stands for CoVeReD WaGoN.

With the higher walls and counters it's just great to camp in. This will be our 3rd year in it, and we're looking forward to this year. Lots of local camping with a camping group we're members of, and a three week trip to Michigan to see family. Then there's our own fishing and weekend, and weekday, getaways here in Colorado.

Camper Animal welcome to PUT!

I think that one of them will be my retirement camper.  So dave if you get one make sure it has a bathroom.  Then maybe you can make me a deal in a year or two.:D

After all the different campers I have had, getting my Aliner LXE was the best thing I ever did!  It is the best of all worlds: lightweight like a PU, able to stop in a rest area and use my own bathroom like a TT, and sets up quicker than my hybrid ever did.  It is also the best constructed camper I have had.  The details "behind the scenes" (like in cabinets, and underneath stuff that you wouldn't look at) are great and it looks like they put it together with care.

The next issue of the magazine has an article about Aliner and is on its way to the printer.[IMG][IMG]
