Memorial Weekend at Malibu RV--Self Service Rally

Even though it is $$$$, we love the Malibu RV (www.maliburv.com). Post here if you want to join us for Memorial Weekend 5/23 to 5/26. We are staying in the front row (full hook ups--in Matthew McConaughey's old neighborhood) but you can save a bit in the w/e only sections.

That's the place. But for as unattractive as all those restrictions sound, the kids love the beach (read: sleep well at night) and the camping friends are always first rate!!

sniff sniff.  I get so home sick sometimes.  

We will be out in the Mojave desert with Viking baking our backsides off.  But having a heckalotta fun:D .   Paying homage to Dee with the biggest damn campire one will ever see. :!

I was thinking about camping with Viking & OC Campers originally but DNA Dan the worry wort will drive me crazy the whole time when the kids are on the quads.Gee it's not like Kevin would roll one or anything :rolleyes: Kinda hard to hide wipe out injuries when He is there to witness them :yikes:

Yes, we are out for this one. We will be enjoying the 2nd Annual "Cooking with the (OC)Campers" Memorial Day Weekend Bash.
 
It will cost us........well.......nothing per night, and we can pick our own sites.

This sounds like fun, but the kids would be bummed not to have  a fire and smores.  Its one there favorite things about camping.  Sitting around the fire is one of my favorite things as well.

Full Hookup Ocean View  $95 per night
Water & Electric Mountain View  $62 per night

plus........*All holidays are subject to a surcharge of $20.00 :eyecrazy:
              City of Malibu Occupancy Tax is 12% (not included)

Their website is a little confusing in another spot it says:
"Holiday* surcharge $40.00 per night for RV sites, $20.00 per night for tent sites," .......(Memorial Weekend is a holiday)

OH!!!! I almost forgot.......it also states "$5.00 per night each additional person"

SO.......it looks like if you want full hookup, beach views for 3 people, you may be looking at $162 per night.

$10 2 extra people
$17 Malibu city tax

If you want something a little less expensive, you could go for a "Mountain view. W/E for $125 per night..... $375.  :confused:

OMG!! is it $95/night?? well never mind, for THAT kind of money I need more than a beach. I would rather go to Newport dunes, at least they have crafts throughout the day, a heated pool, they ALLOW scooters & fires. oh and movies on the beach. I was willing to give up my fire but not for that price. I love you guys but I need more bang for my buck

Yes, it is a "bake off":p . You basically drive to "hell" and hang a right. It is out in the middle of know where with absolutely nothing to do but ride your quads/dirt bikes with a great group of people. Oh yeah, drink as many cactus coolers as you want cause nobody will bother you.:!   AAHHH!!! heaven!!!

Dave and I would love to continue his birthday celebration at Malibu, but I can't take that Friday off, and I wouldn't be able to get there until late Friday night. Plus, $400.00 sounds so expensive! I think we're going to try to go camping a little closer to home for this long weekend, but we'll miss sharing Dave's birthday extravaganza with you guys!!!

So wagon master about the potluck?  Will the event take place on Saturday or ?

If there is going to be a pot luck cool - if not that too is fine we can all still eat together.

If there is to be the usual gathering then we would like to bring eggs benedict for breakfast and a stew for dinner with noodles.  Also, since the number of folks attending the rally is small should we double up on what we bring - if so we can bring a salad as well or even a dessert!

RONIN is ready - he has his hat, sun block and new swim outfit - you guys better look out!

Well - I hope all is well and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at this rally, I know they are all great people.
