We plan a week long camping trip every Thanksgiving.  You can't beat it, 3 days off from work and you get an entire week!

We live in TX, but we are willing to dirve up uo 8-10 hours if need be to get somewhere to spend the week.  So many places up North interest me, but obviously we don't really want to camp in the snow.  We'll go to the edge of the snow though...45-60 degree highs in the days are fine.
And so is warm weather.  We just don't want to deal with below freezing for more than one night or so.

Any suggestions for a place to go that is 8-10 hrs or LESS from Dallas that would keep us busy for an entire week of new adventures, short hikes each day (1-4 miles)??

I also have my Thanksgivng week reservations made.

Made then before I left Ocean Lakes CG, Myrtle Beach SC this past T-day week.
I go down on Sunday before Thursday and the wife and kids come down on Tuesday eveing or Wednesday morning when the kids get out of school.
We had 12 families this past T-day and had a real good meal.

There are some great campgounds in Arkansas. Lake Ouachita just outside of Hot Springs is one of our favorites. Plenty of hiking trails, you can rent a boat and enjoy the 50,000 acre lake, fishing, exploring the many islands in the lake or just cruising. In Hot Springs just 30 minutes away you can check out one of the many spa's by getting a bath in the natural waters of the hot springs followed my a massage. Because the spa's are owned by the National Park Service, it is very reasonable. You can also spend a few hours digging for gems at one of the local digs for a few bucks. It's fun and you always come away with something cool. I also think the Clinton Library is near as well.

You can google the Arkansas State Park website, it's really one of the best websites out there.
