Well with my build up I have opted to stick with leafs springs for simplicity, but I am still thinking of addind actually shocks to give it a smoother ride for me in the Pull vehicle. What are others thoughts, are the shocks that much better?

I have often thought of adding shocks to my trailer too. It would add years to the life of the trailer. Without shocks, the trailer (especially the cabinetry) takes a lot of punishment.

Adding shocks may not be easy. You will need to attach mounts to the axle and to the frame. If you find something that mounts relatively easily, let us know. I would prefer bolt on mounts as apposed to weld on.

I will let you know what I do! But I think shocks are worth the $$

My Jayco Baja came with offroad shocks and 33" mud tires.  I take it up the jeep trails near Salida/Saguache every year.  I unload my Yamaha Rhino and have the wife drive it in front of me before I start up the rocky parts.  Camped several(10) miles up a rocky trail last year in June and we did not see another person the whole week we were there.  Camped at about 10,500' and got snowed on each day.  I can take some pictures if you would like to see a factory install.

That'd be great!!!  Thanks!

Here are some photos of the setup Jayco puts out.  I have about 24" of clearance between the frame and the ground.

Nice pics...thanks for sharing.  :sombraro:

Those shocks appear to be at quite a drastic angle to the axle. Do you have any idea why they did that? They don't appear like they would be very affective at that angle   .

Yeah that is what I was thinking also, they would work at that angle for a steering stabilizer, but can't quite figure they are the best or road handle abilities

I have no idea why they are at that much of an angle.  I know the ones on my 07 GMC are angled as well, but not that much.  You would have to have a pretty short shock if you were to take some of the angle out of it.  Maybe that is why they used such an angle??  If you used a shorter shock, it would certainly reduce the amount of compression and rebound(travel) of the shock.  I am pretty familiar with off-road shocks on ATV's and UTV's, and can only use the aforementioned reason for the angle.
