One of the horizontal poles on my Fleetwoods awning is bent....bad!! It could have happened when I forgot to drop one end in a big rainstorm a few weeks ago and a hundred gallons of water pooled up there, but I am not sure :D Anyway, does anyone know how to get replacement? I think it is beyond bending back into shape! Thanks...

You could straighten the old one, put a short piece of electrical conduit inside and pop rivet it in place for strength. I did that with one of my Shepard's hooks. It worked great.

Sweet! That idea will go into my memory bank.

You can go to your Fleetwood dealer to get a new pole.:)

I second Tlhdoc recomendation.  In fact I've seen them in one dealership so you might not have to order one.

They want $55 for a Shepard's Hook  :eyecrazy: . I can't emagine what they'd want for an awning pole.

You might take a look at those expandible painters poles,
with a little modification to the ends that might do the trick.
How about  Many Trails or Affinity to check for prices and
 availability here in town. ;)
There's always Fleetwood.
Good Luck with the repair

In addition to the painters pole, look at the adjustable cargo bars.  Northern tool has one that looks a lot like an awning pole that might do the trick.

Walmart and other camping places have adjustable replacement tent poles. Don't know if that would help or not. i would thing you could modify them to work.

I had a bent pole from heavy winds. I went to Home Depot and got one of those telescoping painters poles , about 5- or 6 feet closed, for $10.00. I cut a piece of the bent pole and took it with me to make sure diameter was the same. Then I removed the inner extension from the painter pole, drilled a series of holes in the outer tube to match the one's in the bent pole (for the length adjustment button thingy) and slid the old smaller pole into it's new home. It works great  :#

Thanks for all of the ideas!! I may try to bend it back and see if the conduit will help add support. If not the painters pole idea seems to be the easiest (and cheapest!!) fix...thanks again
