B-I-L took the pup out and hooked straight to the city water supply...now the sink leaks and the shower leaks...what am I up against...what all should I be looking at to fix. It's a 2000 Dutchman if that helps. Where do I start??

Thanks, Shane

City water pressures are not always the same from one area to another. This being the case, helps to have one of these doohickeys on your incoming water line to insure the water pressure is not more than the RV lines can handle. What's more, your Dutchman has a few miles on it (and a little age), so good to make sure the pressure is in check.

(These things are quite common ... your local Wally-Mart probably has them, too.)

Most Owner's Manual state that a water pressure regulator MUST be used.

My Owner's Manual says to use a maximum rated regulator of 45#.

check the packing on each of the leaky faucets and make sure they are tight. we took our 06 fleetwood niagra out in march last year and after un winterizing, my shower and sink valves wouldn't shut off so I removed the knobs and snugged up the packing ... problem solved.  hope this helps
btw... a regulator is a good thing always.

Think this is the same post as on PUX which I answered by saying to first install your pressure regulator, and see if you have leaks, if so, then pop off the faucet handle caps and tighten the screws a smidget.  See if there are leaks then.

Sometimes with higher water pressure than the faucets are made to handle, you will have leaks, but, when pressure is reduced to where it should be, the faucets will 'reseat' and no leaks.  Hopefully this will be your solution.

If you have leaks on your shower faucet's vacuum breaker, I do believe you will need to replace it, but it's a cheap fix.

Best wishes.

Well, the pressure regulator would be the place to start!

Note that the regulator I referenced for you is pre-set from the factory at a 40 to 50 psi setting. That would be about the max you'd want to have for your Dutchman. Also, sometimes the hose connections may simply need to be tightened, too.

Good luck,
