Am I the only one that feels like I have no one to vote for this year for president? I don't like any of them.

You're not alone....... :swear:

But then again..........who'd want that job :screwy:

The word FUBAR comes to mind.

Can't wait for my parting gift from George. That's going to cure everything that's wrong.......with me.

ScouterMom

Nope - the pickin's are pretty slim.....

Hell of a thing to pick a President because he's 'not as bad' as the other candidates.

I can't find anything on the camping history of any of the candiadates! :D

I think they should all have to hit the campaign trail with PopUp trailers. We should be able to follow their every move on the web and watch as they pop Up and pop Down, day after day. They all should have to stay at the same campground. I can picture McCain and Obama standing at the edge of Hillary's campsite laughing as she attempts to back in her PopUp for the first time. :sombraro:

I can think of many more magical moments but I'll probably just get myself into trouble. Let's just get the petition started. ;)

I personally think that the President of the US should have fair compensation for the job that he/she is doing.

The heads of America's 500 biggest companies received an aggregate 54% pay raise last year. As a group, their total compensation amounted to $5.1 billion, versus $3.3 billion in fiscal 2003.
http://www.forbes.com/2005/04/20/05ceoland.html

That's an average salary of $10 million dollars a year to attract the best person to do the best job for any particular one of these top 500 public companies. The 10th highest paid CEO....Richard D Fairbank
Total Compensation: $56.7 mil ....5-Year Compensation Total: $226 mil.......who'd want him for pres?....he's #10 :o

The President of the US makes $400,000 per year. That's less than 5% of the AVG CEO salary. How does that make any sense? How do the American people think that they are going to attract the best candidate to do the best job for the people that he/she is working for?????

This type of imbalance of compensation attracts only people with an agenda.  The bottom line is, we get what we pay for. You pay a clown's salary.....you get a clown.

Ah, yes, but look at the dividends they'll get later for making their special friends rich!  Besides, like the present one, they get get drunk on power and all the pomp & circumstance, and would readily really PAY $400,000.00 a year just to have the job!

Besides, paying more would only draw out more skilled in thievery & deception, like those CEO's who have taken over US corporations in great numbers.

People don't run for President for the money, they run for the power and that's it. I think most candidates feel they can make a difference, but it's still an incredible power trip.

unfortunately, this year I won't be voting FOR a particular candidate but more likely vote AGAINST another candidate, assuming I don't just waste my vote on some totally unelectable 3'rd party person, if a decent one suddenly appears........not likely..even the libertarians suck anymore.

There-in lies the problem..

That's the only thing that the position offers. That is exactly what needs to change.

People that run for president are all rich to begin with so they don't need the money. But along with the salary comes free room and board, free laundry service, free travel, free health-care (for life) plus a salary for life. Then of course there's all the money they will make from their memoirs and speaking engagements after wards.

Maybe it's not the presidents salary that's out of line but the ceo salaries. It amazes me when you see a company laying people off, having their worst year ever yet the ceo gets a huge bonus and is making millions to begin with.

I was thinking about running for president but then I realized that if elected my days of pup camping would be over so I scrapped the idea.  :screwy:

Because if we want something done right.....we have to PAY$$$$ for it....

If we want greed, power mongers, corruption and lies.....just keep doing what we're doing and we'll keep get what we're getting.
