We went to Lodgepole when we had our Santa Fe and the twins were about 2yrs.   The location is wonderful because you have the wilderness on one side of the street (camping) and on the other, you have all the modern conveniences (showers/shopping).  There was some bear activity but they seemed to keep themselves towards the back of the campground.  You PU & HTT owners will probably have to use the bearboxes to keep your food, I know we had out.  You may want to check with the Ranger.  The Ranger kept close tabs on those who left food/coolers out and won't hesitate confiscating them.

We are already camping that weekend but if we didn't already have plans, this trip would be tempting.

Have Fun.

This would probably work for us in 09 also.  A couple years ago we went to Yosemite as a group and Sequoia would be fun.

Thank you for the interest in this trip.

I am sorry some of you have made other arrangements, but I did not want to say anything until I was sure I could make some reservations.

I do not know if it is appropriate to swap one camping trip for another

Wow, Harald...this wagonmaster thing really suits you.   Everything sounds good to me--we'll go with the flow.  Most of the National Parks also have Jr. Ranger programs that my kids love so we could check that out too.
