Hello all:

We just picked up our first pop up, a new-to-us Coachmen Clipper (1070ST). It was a sunny day for a change so the whole family had a great picnic in the driveway as we checked out the unit all over. The only immediate worry I have is about losing the crank handle to raise and lower the roof while in the boonies! Does anyone know where I can get a spare for a Coachmen/Viking? The business-end is 3/4" in diameter and has a slot. My BAL jack handle looks similar but is too wide to fit.

Any ideas on making one from scratch?

Thanks a bunch!

WELCOME TO PUT!!!!
I have a 1' long piece of metal conduit that I cut a slice into. If I lose my wrench, I can put a pair of vise grips on it and use it as the handle.

I made an emergency use crank handle for my popup from a deep well socket. I bought a deep well socket of the right size to fit into the crank fitting on the popup and hacksawed a slot into the end of it so it would go over the pin inside the fitting. I always have a socket set in the car so if the need arises I can just put the socket onto a ratchet and crank away. I store the socket in the camper in a storage compartment right near the door so I can get to it if need be.

Jim,
Try one of these two websites (These websites were posted in one of these forums don't remember who or where, but want to give credit where credit is due)  :U .

Why bother. They're not expensive. I bought a second crank from my Starcraft dealer and keep it in the TV. The original rides in the door caddy.
