Yesterday while driving home here in Orange County, CA, I saw a sad, damaged Nimrod pop-up sitting on the shoulder at Beach Blvd.  It appeared to have been the victim of an accident, but there was no tow vehicle or people around it.

Over the weekend, down in San Clemente on the 5 fwy, I saw a Toy Hauler that had been turned into toothpicks as the result of an accident.

In both situations, I found myself reacting much the same way when I see a dead pet or deer on the side of the road.  I was quite sad!     :(

You know you're addicted when you place as much emotion into someone else's camper as you do your own family pet!!

Just thought I'd share....

Dude, two years ago I saw an old school Airstream that looked like a lima bean.  It had rolled barrel style down I95.  The two vehicle was still attached and the back tires were about 5 feet off the ground.  It twisted up the tongue like a bad Gene Simmons video.  The poor geazer couldn't do anything but sit there with 95 traffic backing up.  I felt pretty bad for him.  Scattered his stuff for 1/4 mile in the road and both medians.

REcently I took a trip with a friend from the IL /Wis border to the northeast corner of Arkansas - we saw many, many "parts" of trailers and campers along the highway - especially AC covers!

I think sometimes people think it's easy to trailer these things and that they are as tough as the cars they are driving - and they aren't!  to keep a camper light enough, they are really very flimsy!  When travel trailers really became popular after WWII - rember how they had to warn everyone that riding in a towed vehicle was illigal and dangerous?  They DO come apart very easily!
