I think is correct on page one.  Let me know and I can update it...Thanks camping folks....

Quote from: jendak760Thanks Laura. This will be our first time beach camping in a very long time.

I see so many posts from others on here that aren't listed on page 1 as going. Is the list on the first post correct on who is going on this trip? I'm trying to figure out who has teenagers, Dakota keeps bugging me who is coming on this trip. :eyecrazy:

As of now, Dakota has a playoff game on Saturday but we don't know what time yet.

We are looking forward to camping again so soon with everybody.

Just to let you know we had to change our site to # 22 made this when we still had the pup and we wouldn't fit with the TT......

cjpoppin

OK just before someone says "WHAT DID YOU DO"  I don't know why I changed my site number looking at the figures they are both the same size and the new one is as far from the beach as you can get......Haahaaaaa  one on me.....I must have punched a different site number when checking the size of driveway and then called DSB and had them change it.....????
The important thing is we are going and only 4 more wake-ups for us.......!

Question...Do we know how many young kids will be there, and total # of people.May take grand daughter Kylsee and she wants to know ( so does  Toni ). Kylsee wants to fly her kite. For pot luck sat. we are thinking of chili.

shirleen

I will have my 12 year old boy and possibly my 5 year old girl.
She has soccer at 9am on Sat and Basketball at 11 on Sunday.  I may have her stay with daddy and avoid the back and forth.
She would be there Sunday afternoon for sure

24 hours to finish report cards==life of a teacher

3 more wake upS

griffsdad

Griffin has a soccer game at 11:40 and then a Pizza Party from 1 to 3. For pot luck we may do a tri tip.

jendak760

Geesh all these sports. Dakota has her semifinal playoff game at 8 and if they winthen the championship game is at noon. Her team was 2nd place this year in their division!!! So depending on how the game goes in the morning, we may not be back to camp until late afternoon.

I'll be one (sorta) adult and two boys ages 5 and 7.
I've got a kite stuffed permanently in the car for occasions like this.

I'll do the mini sausages that the kids eat wholesale for breakfast, and
hmm- teriyaki beef?  for dinner potluck.
I'm pondering bringing the kids' bikes.  How safe is Doheny for small terrors on bikes?

I just checked the water temp- 64. I'll probably end up with a sandy, blue 5 year old boy to thaw out sometime over the weekend.

I'll be in site 24. I'm hoping that I'll have the luxury of keeping one eye on the kids while chatting at the campfire with all of you.

Bikes are great for doheny, sand toys, kites, ball, etc.  You'll be fine and the boys will have a blast

Does anyone know how long it should take to charge my battery if its plugged in to the house? We've only camped in the trailer once before without any hookups at all. I think it was in Summer so we didn't have to use the heaters on the matteresses or the heater. I have no idea how long my battery will even last if I start with a full charge...

You're probably OK if you leave it plugged in overnight. The question is
what shape is your battery in?  Before charging, I'd make sure the water level is right. If it's the original battery and you find yourself adding a lot of water, charge it up anyways and see what happens, but know you might need another battery. You're with Sccampers and someone will have a generator; I've got a wimpy spare battery with me and there is always making a wal-mart run for a new one.

A proper battery charger works better than just plugging in the trailer, if you have one.

Battery use over a weekend is really a function of how much the lights are on. Those little incandescent light bulbs pull about 2 amps each.
Pumps and fans might pull an amp once they get going and the sum total of time they're on won't add up to an hour a day.
Figure about 30 amp-hours is the most you want to discharge the battery, so having a light on for about an hour is ~10% of the energy you have.  Electric blankets/mattress heater will probably discharge the battery in a matter of hours.

Bring real blankets/sleeping bags etc. and plan on using the furnace. Flashlights/lanterns help and when you hear that occasional beep in your sleep from the low voltage indicator on the propane leak detector know that the SCCamper with the generator will be your new best buddy in the morning.

See you there!

Uh oh... Ummmmm add water to the battery? Hmmm... :eyecrazy:
