While not a recipe, thought folks might want to know that Bed, Bath & Beyond carry Debbie Meyer Green Bags for $9.99 for a 20 bag pack (10 large, 10 medium bags).

These bags are supposed to increase the shelf life of produce by absorbing the eithylene gas the produce emits.  I just got my bags, so can't tell of the results yet.

I  thought these were a great idea. Did a search on the internet and the reviews do not bear out the claims! After reading the reviews, I changed my mind!

they work great for me....one thing you need to do is make sure your produce is DRY before you put it in there. sometimes I put a paper towel in the bag.

These bags have been available in New Zealand for (at least) 15 years. We used them on our yacht when we were sailing and they worked great. We could keep produce twice as long when we were on long ocean passages.

Like Dee said, The produce has to be dry. The moisture interferes with the chemical process.

These work great for me too, but like everyone else said make sure the produce is dry.  I've kept strawberries in them for a couple of weeks with no soft spots.
