What would you do? I know what I would do.

I love tents  :p

If there was a Tent-Of-The-Month-Club, I would belong to it... :tent:

However, I don't plan to go back. The Pup is just a tent on steroids and with the heater and roomy, off the ground interior, it seriously extends my camping season here in the northwest.  :D

I've been caught in a tent, on the beach in July, suffering 40 mph winds and temps in the low 30's.  :yikes: I say 'NO MORE' to that.

I would purchase another pup or restore, depending on the situation at the time. At this moment, with work, kids, and sports, I don't have time to get a haircut, much less restore a pup. But if given the opportunity in the future, I would enjoy the project.

You have been here since 2003, how much restoration does your existing PopUp need? :D

Who cares what the RV industry feels about PopUps?  They have been the black sheep of the RV family for a LONG time!

If anyone is really concerned enough not to buy a Fleetwood Popup because of their recent business situation, there are still plenty of other solid alternatives.  A Starcraft or Jayco are still pretty good.

If I was shopping for a new PopUp I'd wouldn't hesitate to negotiate a for a good deal with a Fleetwood dealer, and use this "turmoil" as a bargaining tool!

A used PopUp is always an option, if you don't mind not having a warranty.

.

Beacher: Go back and re-read my original post. There are NO manufacturers producing new pop ups in this hypothetical situation, NOT ONE. The question was posted simply to see if people would restore, buy a used pop up, move to a TT, 5er or go back to tent camping.

This was intended to be fun so Relax and enjoy.

BTW - I would probably never go back to tent camping exclusively - though I still like to tent camp in some situations.

I haven't figured out how to take my PUP on a canoe overnight - The box is not watertight enough to paddle the PUP downriver as a 'houseboat'..... it's not a Wisconsin Dells 'Duck' LOL!  :yikes: Though that WOULD be an interesting   mod..... Hmmmm...... wonder how much caulking that would take?? :p
