The easiest way i have found to start a fire is with Trioxane tablets, these are used by the military to heat rations.  they come 2 to the sealed package (waterproof) I bought a bunch from WWW.cheaperthandirt.com, thay also have a large assortment of military  surplus items. Another way if you want to make your own is using paper egg cartons, wax and sawdush (good clean with no chemicals. Melt the wax in a double boiler, (carefully as it is flammable) then put the sawduch in the carton egg holes, pour the hot melted wax over this. When you want to start a fire just break off one of the egg containers from the carton. the trioxane is easire tho but does burn like alchol with a blue invisible flame.

We use our junk mail that needs shredding, it saves on shredder and kids love to put paper on the fire. We also use Match light especially when our wood isnt as dry as we would like. Match light burns so hot it will ignite almost anything. Happy Camping
