Hi:  we just went out for our first camping trip of the season with our newly acquired 2002 coleman mesa.we have had a fiver in the past but are newbies to popups.the problem started when our fridge crapped out on 110ac.had to switch over to propane, also the converter fan ran almost all weekend!! is this normal for the converter to run this long?? i must also say it was very cold and rainy this past weekend so the outside temp. was not an issue with overheating.i searched every where for a switch for the converter.we had the unit on 110 in our driveway for over 2 weeks with no fridge problems or converter fan running! we did manage to trip the G.F.I. plug over the weekend.there are  2 breakers in the panel when i flip off the one that powers the converter we lose all 12 volt lighting.is this normal?? p.s. now back home the fridge is working again on 110 go figure.

There are only two circuit breakers. One 20 amp dedicated for air conditioner usage and a 15 amp that runs EVERYTHING else. This is standard for 99+% of PU converters.
As for the fan. They are themostatically controlled. Most times it's a matter of air flow around the converter. You have to keep packed items away from it. The more 12 volt draw, the more heat the transformer/rectifier generates and the more the fan will run.

To add to what Mike wrote - our converter fan ran increasingly more often right before the converter crapped out (luckily under warranty).
