Pop Up Roof Window Replacement

My pop up window in the center of my roof leaks from one corner. The plasting winow does not appear to be cracked and I can't tell for sure where it's leaking from.  Would it be wise to calk the heck out the roof around where the window sits flat on the roof?  I thought of replaceing the whole pop up window but there is already so much calk on thr roof (covering screws I believe) that I think it would be a total nightmare trying to clean the calk and pry the window out without damaging the roof.

Any ideas?

I assume you are talking about your roof vent. I would buy some caulk remover and remove the existing caulk from the roof. scape it and make sure the area is nice and clean. I would then re-apply new caulking around the vent. this way you know that it was done right. if that doesn't fix it. I would buy a new vent  and replace the old one. the new one should come with a new gasket and roof vents don't cost a lot.
good luck

I agree ^^
There's a nice self leveling roof caulk available that works great for this type of situation.  But you'll want to make an attempt at getting all the old caulking off first.  Sometimes you can use a box cutter or similar utensil and get an edge started and it will come right off.

Just be careful working up on the roof because you don't want to damage it by crawling around......or banging around.....up there.  I usually lay a sheet of plywood on mine, so that I'm not actually on the roof sheeting.
