Hi Everyone!
I have just finished making some arrangements with the Keen Lake resort staff and I have to tell you that Jane (one of the owners) was the MOST pleasant person I have ever dealt with.
We have a group room reserved for Monday evening for our Potluck supper. The room has picnic tables, electric, and BBQ grills available. One side of the room can be opened up for the evening air.
Firewood will be delivered to my site Sat. or Sun. (1/2 cord for $87.50 plus tax) for our group evening campfires.
Jane is researching caterers for a Friday morning "Going Home" breakfast and will be emailing me info. She also gave me a phone number for a restaurant 1 mile down the road that may be able to provide a group breakfast.
Things seem to be on a role. Jane tells me that she has 13 or 14 reservations tagged as POPUPTIMES.
Can't wait to camp!

You have been one busy lady.  Thanks for the hard work.

Hargus

Cheryl sounds good. Thanks for all your efforts. If there is any interest in the silent auction and the raffle I think they're fun and it would help defer the cost of the wood and maybe breakfast. If not we would be happy to contribute.
As I mentioned in another post if there is any interest in T-shirts I'd look into it. But time is ticking away.

Cheryl

Thank you Paula and Hargus. I think a 50/50 raffle is certainly an easy and fun way to defray the cost of the firewood. If I don't read a lot of interested responses here in the next week or so I think we will pass on the silent auction this year. As far as T-shirts go, I appreciate your willingness to take on such a project, but again, if there is not a lot of interested responses in the next few days we will probably pass on this also. What is everyone else's opinion? We NEED some input!!!!

WOW this sounds like fun...I like the firewood being delivered to your site.. :-()
wish I could go  :%

Have a great time and burn every last piece of firewood for me :sombraro:

Sorry Cheryl, I haven't been around much. Actually was off camping for a change. I plan to be there but not sure who else in my clan will make it. Older kids have real jobs :D so can only consider weekends.

As for input, I don't need another tee and I agree about skipping the silent auction. I'd be willing to pay for firewood. If we have 8+ families, it won't cost very much.

Do we have a final list of who is coming?

Cheryl

Thanks for the reply!
According to Jane at Keen Lake, they have a list of 12 to 13 families so far. I know one of my group will probably not make it so that number goes down by one.
As there are only 11 more days before we leave, I think the schedule will stay very simple and relaxed.
- Campfires nightly at, or near, my site
-Monday eve. Potluck and 50/50 raffle

I want to thank Hargus for offering to take on the T-Shirt task. I think we will pass on this trip, but I hope he may make the same offer next year!!
See you all soon,
Cheryl

Cheryl I still have my reservation.  Simple is often the best. Thanks again for stepping up to the plate.:)

Just wanted to let everyone know:
We will not be getting our fire wood until sometime Monday (wood guy is on vacation until then). The campground will have their normal bundles for sale or you could buy some locally maybe. Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up.

I will load up the back of the truck with enough wood for at least a few fires.  That should hopefully help hold everyone through until Monday.  I will be arriving on Saturday at site 54A if anyone needs some.

Ken and I will be taking the kids to Steam Town on Thursday the 17th. We should get there around 11:30-12pm. If you want to join us please feel free, we are bringing a picnic lunch with us , since they do not serve food of any kind, but they do have tables and benchs to sit at.

hope to see you there!
