I think we need a new outdoor shower head.  The trickle switch (or whatever it is called) is missing.  DH went to local Camping World and he said they didn't understand what he was talking about (but he was mad because he got a speeding ticket on the way there and he never speeds... besides it was a speed trap...)  So then we were at Lowes and he bought a new shower head and hose... We haven't looked at the camper yet, but can you replace the outdoor shower head and hose with a residential shower kit or do you need a special one for the camper.  Also, he would like to get a longer shower hose, but this would mean it would never go back in it's little case.  Is there a fitting we could put on it to make the hose easy to get on and off so we could store it all in the camper?  Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes you can use a standard house hold shower head/hose. You can also connect 2 hoses together to make a longer hose. Get a 1/2 to 1/2 brass nipple and you can connect 2 hoses. When you want to put the hose back in the plastic box, just unscrew the second hose from the brass nipple and store it in the camper.  If the only thing wrong with the existing shower head is that you are missing the thing to stop the water flow, you can get an in-line on/off water valve.  I purchased mine at Lowe's.  It is about and inch or so long and you can attach it between the shower head and the shower hose. :)

Thanks.  We are going to be working on the camper tomorrow in preparation fr our first week long trip.  I am not sure if the on/of water valve is what is actually missing, but on our shower head, there are to holes on either side of the handle right before the sprayer part.  In order fo the shower to work right, you need to hold those two holes closed with your fingers otherwise water sprays out the holes.  I am assuming there was originally a piece that went in there and probably turned the water on/off (from what I've seen of other showers online... but I could be totally wrong on that).  The household one we got at Lowes was only about $10.00.  As far as the water stop valve, an inline stop valve is a great idea, so we will probably put that on, too.  And I will tell DH about the 1/2 to 1/2 brass nipple to connect the hoses!  Thanks again!

Now back to Lowes to get the rest of the stuff  :(  I really miss the mom and pop lumber yards and hardware stores that weren't so big and confusing and that were stocked with employees who knew exactly where everything was...
