Stepper Door

Does anyone have any difficulties with the stepper doors on the santa fe trailers being hard to unlock?  Basically you put the key in the lock to pull the handle out so that you can turn it and open lower the stepper door.  There are times when it feels like the key is going to break off trying to pull the latch out so that I can turn it....


Any symapthy is of course appreciated but solutions are especially welcome:)

Graphite powder for the keyhole, silicone spray for the arm. It worked for ours.( A little violin playing in the back ground doesn't hurt ):J

At first I was a little insulted with your advice to "push in" but then my wife and I started laughing when we remembered the first day we brought the trailer home......

We were trying to open the door with the key instead of just opening the latch:)  Was a little embarrassed on that one but luckily my wife called the dealer so I was able to blame it on her:)

Will try the graphite though as that sounds like it could help.  The part that is hard is actually pulling the latch out not so much turning it.
