and soon school will be starting up again.  We've already taken in a road trip from San Francisco, CA to Portland, OR and it took about a week and a half.

First stop for 4 days was NASCAR at Infineon.  It doesn't count as camping, it was more like a weekend of tailgating with seven other RV's.

The rest of the time, it was driving with stops in Petaluma, CA, Crescent City, CA, Newport, OR, Tillamook, OR.  At that point, we disconnected and stayed at a hotel in Portland for a couple of days, then headed on back down with stops in Newport, OR again, Eureka, CA and then back home.

All I can say is that the 12 days we spent on the road went by real quick.  We're trying to do a couple more significant trips before school starts.  How are you folks doing this summer?  Have you been out yet?

Well we haven't gotten out as much as I would like but our one big trip to the Grand Canyon was phenomenal. It's one that I will always remember. We are lucky to be able to camp year round here and I am looking forward to the cooler weather so we can start camping closer to home. We have four (that I know of) great cg's within 1 hour of the house but with temps in the 100's we aren't about to go camping there. They do make nice little one night get-a-ways in the fall and winter.

Yep, heat like that is oppressive when camping.  Last summer we didn't get out as much as we wanted, but this year we're trying to be more aggressive.

I'm just reminding others that the summer goes by quickly especially for kids on vacation from school, so heads up.  :-).

We've been out camping 9 times so far this year, one 6 day trip and the rest were weekend trips.
Heading off this day next week for a 5 day trip to Lopez Lake to camp with some SCCampers, with 26 families we should have plenty of fun.

Having a new rig does help, makes us want to get out more often.
