Hi everyone,  I'm hoping someone can help. We bought our Fleetwood E2 last year and haven't been able to get the gas-fired furnace to work.  We actually haven't needed it yet, which is good, but we're trying to figure out how everything works.  The instructions say to just turn it on, but there's no "on" button.  There's a "RESET/OFF" button inside, and nothing outside that we can find.  It also says there should be a gas valve outside, but the only one we found was the one for the hot water heater, which works fine.  I'll attach pictures of the inside and outside if anyone thinks they may have something to help.  Please let me know.

Thanks -- and happy camping!

Did you turn your thermostat on?  There should be a switch on the bottom of the thermostat that turns it on.  On my thermostat when the switch is pushed to the left it is on.  You need to have electric (battery or plug the camper in) and the propane tank needs to have gas and the valve needs to be open.  Good luck and welcome to PUT.:)

On both of our PUs the (very small) "On/Off" switch is on top of the thermostat. The temperature control is on the bottom.

I have the E3. I would think they are the same.

1)Make sure the propane is 'On' at the tank(s).
2)Push the On/Off switch on top of the thermostat to 'On'. Mine is very hard to push On or Off. Pain in the butt, but it works.
3)Increase the temp at the thermostat until the fan starts. After about 15 seconds of fan, the burner lights and out comes the heat.

Really very simple. It sounds like you just are not turning the thermostat ON.

Good luck.

Wellonheels, Typically the furnace not lighting is either due to a partically drained battery or turning on the propane cyclinder too quickly.  If you have tested the E2 while you are on shore power and other propane equipment worked then I have to agree with the others that you need to turn on the thermostat.

Atwood has trouble shooting conditions and solutions at this site.

Hope this helps.

I didn't see a button on top of the thermostat - but that seems to be the missing element.  I'll go look at it tonight and find out.  Otherwise we've done everything else - the gas was on, the 110v plugged in, and turned the stat up but no fan... I'll let you know -- thanks!!!!!!!

Oh, and how do you like your E3?  So far we're loving the E2.  Just the right size for 2 with an F150 pickup...

UPDATE:  Yep, that was it, we think -- the "knob" is a plastic piece that I thought was molded into the top of the stat - but if you push it *really hard* it moves to another position.  So we're sure that's it.   We'll test it this weekend to make sure it works, but I have no doubt.  Thank you all so much for your help!

The thermostat in my Coleman/Fleetwood popup has a small lever on the bottom of the thermostat that slides from side to side to turn on the furnace. It does move quite hard but clicks into position when moved. What I did was to put a switch in line with the thermostat wiring (in series with one side, one wire) which I mounted on the galley near the furnace. I then leave the hard to move switch on the thermostat on all the time and use my new easier to get at and move switch to turn the furnace on and off. Works great and much nicer.

So there should be a switch on the top OR the bottom of the thermostat to turn it on and off.

Yep.....and just to make it a little more confusing....my brother's is on the side of the thermostat, on his TT.. :p and if you have a digital thermostat, the switch is on the front.......the bottom line is, there's gotta be an "ON/OFF" switch somewhere. :sombraro:
