If you're in northern New Mexico and you like the old narrow guage trains, Chama New Mexico is the place to visit. On the the north end of town the Rio Chama campground is pretty nice. It is right on the Chama river and is in the tall trees. People are friendly and helpful. The Cumbres and Toltec narrow Guage railroad passes just outside the park its monster fun to see the train (ride it also) up into the mountains right on the Colorado border. The park has hook ups, or not, I usually do water and electric $ 25.00  night. The mountain temprature is nice and there is fishing, hiking, biking, and lots of photo ops in the area. The town is very small, so not a lot of restaurants or stores, the big draw is the train. Its a nice stop between Santa Fe or Durango.
