What about something in the Lake San Antonio/Lake Nacimiento area?

Quote from: boncrab;209105Their reasons were that we overwhelmed their bathroom facilities...

Dang! I knew washing our dishes in the bathroom was a mistake!

Quote from: boncrab;209105...there were several complaints regarding the noise.

Interesting. This was one of the quieter SCCampers rallies we've been on. Maybe the lit poker room and the blenders on the bar were too much. No, wait. It was the dull roar of Dee's flame thrower that did it.

Quote from: boncrab;209105With all of the senior residents I think they are not used to the number of children that our club has.

I can see this. It is common and can be very trying for seniors. I can see it with my own folks who remain very active and travel constantly. One or two grandkids is no problem. Get the entire extended family over and grandma and grandpa tire quickly and take a day or two to recover. It's not that seniors don't like kids. Just that they get a bit overwhelmed by them.

Quote from: boncrab;209105Remember, it's not the campground that I look forward to the most but I get to spend time with great friends. Sure wish I could see you all more often than once or twice a year.

Well said. And if it hasn't been said enough already, let me say it one more time: Thank you, Bonnie, for wagonmastering this rally. You are the one that dealt with the CG setting it up, getting all of our questions answered, being our representative during the rally for the "noise" and other issues, and now you're still dealing with the CG. So thanks for doing a great job.

This was a great rally with a great group of folks. Too bad Smithwoods is out next year. We look forward to whatever alternative is chosen.

Quote from: OC Campers;209136Further south is Big Sur.

Big Sur Campground http://www.bigsurcamp.com/rv-sites.html

Fernwood Campground http://fernwoodbigsur.com/camping-rv.html

we stopped at fernwood ont he way home.  Great place, but not for  a rally, also a VERY hard turn by the office entrance too uch for big rigs.

Not sure about Big Sur CG, but if that is their rules, well.........

oh and neither have full hookups...

Well said as I stated before I love the sound of kids playing but I too have been known to go inside our TT for a well needed rest from kids, noise, nap, nap, did I say nap......I love being retired one can do these things like nap, rest and nap......Inside our TT we do not hear a thing.......:-()

Quote from: Dee4j;209129Have you checked out the KOA in Santa Cruz??

...

We've stayed there years ago before we bought our own popup and it was nice, but pricy. It is now $90 a night!!! Sure makes Seacliff $65 a night seem a bargain.

Pinto Lake in Watsonville was another option and is only $28 a night for hookups, as long as people don't mind the no campfires and no alcohol rules :yikes:

My SIL and BIL, Intandem have stayed at this "Resort" in Paso Robles and highly recommend and it is $50 a night, but it might be a bit too fancy for some people, (like Wavery).;)

I think it is somewhere we should keep in mind for a future rally.

wavery

I think we should get together and buy Pt Mugu CG We could hold as many noisey ralleys at we want and not bother a sole.......I've never seen the toilets "Overwhelmed"......how does one overwhelm a toilet or even 3 toilets?:banghead:  Pt Mugu's got at least 20 toilets......

What's the toilet policy at these other CGs??? We should call them ahead of time and ask them how many people it takes to overwhelm their toilets.........:J

Geesh.......I don't think I'll ever get over that one....and I wasn't even there.....:D...........besides, we don't need their darn toilet....we can overwhelm our own.:p

How about Morro Bay they have 29 sites (1-29) with W/E. It would have to be a self-serve rally and we would have to coordinate which spots each person was trying for.
Plus they have non-hookup sites in case your first pick is already taken.

I just talked to someone at Wine Country Resort- very nice people

They have a (2) areas set up for groups- and they allow tent trailers.

Maybe we should look at this place for next year.

If you are refering to the one located in Paso Robles. It gets HOT there in the summer ;)

miss kathy

very hot- so anywhere that we go besides the coast will be hot- I like the idea of Morro Bay- that is a nice place- we would have to make sure anyone that wanted to go would have to know what dates to sign up for on reserveamerica. and the campsites to go for like you said.

We are going to Morro Bay in October (after the Halloween Rally). I'll take like a gazillion pics if anyone is interested.

We've been there before (with Brad & Mary) and loved it. It's a great place to kayak too. I didn't take many pics last time but here is what I have:

How do some of you feel about having a rally in the High Sierra Region, near Mammoth or June Lake??

We are going up there in a few weeks. If there's any interest, we could look into it. It's about 300 miles North of Los Angeles, up 395.
