Been here done this...again and again. In fact last year we went from the Halloween rally fire to our own fire that surrounded our city (Foothill Ranch) for about 2 weeks. So far, the wind has spared us this year, but it only takes the blink of an eye...

Dee--I'll keep calling and checking on you but if you need anything--call me first.

We're pretty worried about Dave's brother and Sister-in-law. They live over by Savi Ranch --on Herbshey Circle in Yorba Linda. We can't reach Dave's brother and reception is garbled and can't really reach his SIL on her celll either. They have a 2 y/o so please keep them in your prayers.

My heart and prayers go out to all who have lost their homes or who are worried that they might.  We're right there with you and i know I won't sleep well tonight because i'll automatically wake up every 30 to 45 minutes to go see if there are "headlights" (OC Fire Authority) on the hill above our home....

Quote from: Dee4jsorry to hear that.. I just can't imagine..we are going to know several people who have lost their home

It's a possibility canyon Rv is ok. my neighbore said it went down the riverbed and burt the very west side of the park and then jumped the freeway...

 sorry Kwisti...Totally hijacked this thread
Hey girl - it's worth hijacking.  Everything I can tell from the maps on the news websites is that the RV park was spared...really tho, it's the least of the worries right now.  If it's gone, my heart goes out to the people who'd lose so much - including jobs for those who live there. :-(

We've had the news on for hours - Zach and I were to head into Anaheim today to spend the night.  He and I have to drive into Hollywood tomorrow - gonna be weird.

griffsmom

PS Wayne, if your daughter is not in danger, you're better off to listen to her and stay in LA. The freeways are all closed and I just spoke to my SIL and it took her 4 hours to get home from work and she works 10 miles from her home.

If your daughter is close to the fire, OCFA won't let you in anyway.

Amen.....I truly hope the RV park has been spared however our heart sinks when we think about all the loss this fire has caused.....Let's pray the winds die down and the loss isn't as bad during the night.

They asked Dan to work tonight..I told him to go ahead..he will be working at Irvine BMW (so you know JIK)

one of Kara's best classmates from last years school lived in those apts in Anaheim hills, they were not in the front building so I hope they didn't loose everything

aaack they are saying the wind has shifted...

I will have my cell in bed with me tonite...I told my sister if they eveacuate she better call me...I will NEVER hear anyone knocking on the door :eyecrazy:

Dan found a burn twig in our backyard  :yikes:

It's times like this that makes me appreciate the fact I live in the ghetto of yorba linda/ anaheim hills

pray this stops soon.

this is the closest evac to me

Yorba Linda - voluntary evacuation north of Yorba Linda Blvd. between Village Center and Fairmont

I live S. of YL blvd. west of fairmont near esparanza HS

The neighborhood where I go for PT is evacuated

Kevin's councelor may get evacuated...I called her when it jumped the freeway and it took them 2 hrs to get home

Bran and the girls are camping down in O'Neill this weekend with Indian Princesses.  His dad and mother in law live in Yorba Linda, but I don't know their number to call them.  I have called and texted him numerous times to ask him to call his dad...but he hasn't answered or called back.  I have no idea about Yorba Linda area...I just know they live over on Castlerock (since I send the Christmas cards).  Dee...do you know if Castlerock anywhere near the fire?

Glad you are doing fine, Dee.

Thanks, Dee.  They didn't call here to need a place to stay...I am sure they are fine.  I hope they took the cats!

I looked at the map again and his street and the ones next to him aren't the streets I recall that lost some homes. keep in mind it's been hit and miss and by looking at where his street is he is most likely to be missed....

Thanks for the offer, Dee, but stay home and take care of yourself and your family. I spoke to my SIL and they are fine, if not a little (understatement!) stressed out.  My SIL is packing the car just in case and will evacuate to my MIL's home if things change.

I played around on mapquest...and looked at the streets.  You are right.  I do think he is on mandatory evac, but his area seems fine (from ocregister showing which houses were lost).  Find out tomorrow....when Bran gets home and calls him.

Off to watch Tivo!

Just called Canyon RV and they have not lost any camping sites due to the fire, so we should be good to go for this rally.

Dee4j

go here for fire photos...

"nite glow" and "smoke darkend sky" by dee4j13 are views from my house. Nite glow was taken about 3:30 this morning and the other shot was about 1 pm.

in viewing pics 2 of Kevins classmates for sure lost their homes and one more is a good possibility there were at least 20 more MD students we are unsure about.

Kara's current classmate it appears they were spared. but 9 houses in their YL neighbor hood were lost.

this is just so devastating.....
