My AC in the pup has stopped working. It will start up and cool slightly, than it will slowly die and stop. Doesn't sound good.  It takes about three minutes for the air to turn it's self off.

Prior to this the AC was not cooling well.  Any suggustions?

Thanks

Could be a lot of things. It could be as simple as a dirty filter, condenser and/or evaporator coils. It could be as serious as a freon leak or a bad compressor.

What make & model AC is it?

I'd start by checking the filter. It could be clogged and restricting the air flow. Then I'd take off the shroud and clean the condenser and the evap coils with this stuff:

You can buy this special AC coil cleaner at Home Depot. You just spray it on and run the AC, it does all the work.

It shouldn't hurt the finish on your roof but wash it off immediately anyway, just in case.
