tire sizes

the 1962 Trade Winds pop up i'm sprucing up has 12x5.30 tires on it.
  this camper is very lightweight, probably 6 or 7 hundred pounds.  

any reason that 12x4.80 tires wouldn't work?

Take a look at the specs for both tires, and compare prices.  Maybe it's not worth going with the 4.80-12's?  You might also look at the specs for diameter and/or revolutions per mile.  Larger diameter tires run cooler and the wheel bearings stay happier longer.

Don't know what load range tire your looking at but assume they are load range "C"'s ...

The 5.30 X 12 is a tad higher and a tad wider, will carry a little more weight and take a little less air pressure.
