Connecting Dual Batteries...

Howdy all, I know it has been a while, but I have been crazy busy this summer with my business and a baby on the way.  I've been lurking in the background and have enjoyed reading about everyones adventures.

So I am an idiot and forgot to make a note of how my dual batteries were connected before I replaced them.  So now I need to reconnect them, and I wanted to know what order.

I have 2 positive and one negative coming from the camper.  I also have 2 independent wires that connect the batteries to each other (theoretically one positive and one negative since they have different sized ring terminals and one is red and one is white - though I know that this is not really important since they are the same gauge wire).

My question is:  Do I connect the camper wires to one battery, and then connect the batteries to each other, or do I connect the positive wire from the camper to one battery and the negative to the other with the batteries connected to each other?

Thanks in advance.

Obviously the two batteries should be matched in regard to capacity, brand and age ~

That being said, to connect (2) 12 volt batteries in a parallel configuration - first connect the two positive battery terminals together and then to the trailer positive lead; and then do likewise for the negative.
