Was wondering if i I could take the regulater from a q220 and install on q100 for more btu's read a post somewhere where the guy drilled out the holes on his burner  but it seems like that would not help because of regulater is that right

Sorry, but NO!
The regulator controls the pressure. Further on down the line is a orifice that limits the total ouput of the Qs.

My Baby Q gets toooooo hot, let it heat up first and it will be fine.

Now if you took the burner control knob, that might have the orifice in it's output, don't know if the smaller Q's burner will slip over the bigger Qs output!*** not suggesting you try this ****
